Shingleback Haycutters Salmon Rose
The Greeks first made Rose 26 centuries ago when they settled in Provence, the oldest wine growing region in France. The light colour of Rose is a result of the short amount of time the grape and skins stay in contact after being crushed. Today, hundreds of years later, Rose continues to gain popularity, and regions like Mclaren Vale are now producing outstanding medal winning Roses like this one! Shingleback Haycutters Salmon Rose, Gold Medal National Wine Show of Australia 2017. Aromas of freshly picked summer raspberries and strawberries are pierced with fragrant lemon rind. Nuances of rose petals and a hint of dusty minerality tease the senses. A compote of red berry flavours flows over the finely textured palate which is defined by a lingering acidity and savoury moreishness. Kings of Prohibition Tawny
Chateau Pey La Tour Bordeaux Rouge
Chais du Moulin Red
With a family estate rooted in Burgundy and Beaujolais, Laurent Guillot could easily have stayed in this prestigious part of France and focused on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. However, he was keen to look further afield to the vineyards of better-value southern France where creative winemakers are much less bound by rules. And that’s where he’s stayed, coaxing out delicate fruit elegance from the likes of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault for red blends. Chais du Moulin is a ripe, silky blend of raspberry-rich Grenache, blackberry-scented Syrah with the herby red fruits of Cinsault. This is a very enjoyable, easy-going red to sip on its own or alongside roast chicken.
Beau-Charmois Pinot Noir
As the name suggests, Beau-Charmois comes from the word "charm", which expresses the seductive nature of this wine. Selected from premium vineyard blocks on limetone soils in the Pays d'Oc, close to the Pyreneen mountain slopes. This vineyard is strongly influenced by refreshing breezes and warm sunshine, creating one of the longest growing seasons in the Languedoc region. This exceptional climate and geographical location are a paradise for this world-class varietal. Deep crimson in appearance, with plumy fruit and spicy notes of clove, strawberries and cream, and sweet dark cherries. On the palate it is fresh and juicy with a rich mid-palate and velvety tannins. A very well balanced, fruit-forward Pinot. A crowd-pleaser.
