Vignerons Ardéchois Syrah Basalte Du Coiron

A limited production cuvée, from pure Syrah grown on (volcanic) basalt rock on the edge of the Coiron Mountains in the South-Eastern Ardèche in the wider Rhône Region of France. The properties of the volcanic soil hold the heat from the sun, helping get the best from the Syrah vines. The resulting wine is balanced, with powerful aromatics of spice and red fruit, and a texture of soft tannins. This specificity led famous critic and Master of Wine Julia Harding to chose this wine as her wine of the week for JancisRobinson.com, saying that it “combines irresistible fragrance with generous amounts of peppery red and black fruit flavours.”

Maison Les Alexandrins CotesRhone Blanc

Maison Les Alexandrins is a collaboration between two renowned winegrowers from the Rhone Valley - Nicolas Jaboulet and Alexandre Caso. Their wines are crafted in a signature style that is at once contemporary and timeless, and always from exceptional vineyards unearthed by Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the Northern Rhone. A blend of 60% Grenache Blanc, 30% Viognier, and 10% Marsanne. The fruit sourced from the low altitude vineyards provide crispness and delicacy, while the hillside vineyards bring density and richness from their granitic soils. Beautiful pale-yellow colour with shiny reflections. Combining freshness and deliciousness, the nose is seductive with aromas of ripe pears and candied quince, highlighted by spicy notes of anise. The palate reveals a beautiful balance and roundness with a tangy aromatic lift, which evolves into pastry and juicy fruit aromas. With great length, the finish presents a lovely texture which brings liveliness.

Saga R Bordeaux Rouge

The family behind DBR Lafite has been producing wine in Bordeaux since 1868. Their understanding of Bordeaux has been culminating over six generations, driven by the purpose of allowing wine lovers all over the world to be able to dive into the originality of the varied appellations and terroirs with confidence. DBR Lafite is also B-Corp certified, demonstrating their commitment to environmental and social responsibility. The wines of the Saga R range serve as the reference point of each appellation, with a focus on expressing the freshness and elegance that make Bordeaux great. For Saga R Bordeaux Rouge, there is a higher proportion of Merlot (70%) with remainder of the blend (30%) sourced from well-exposed slopes suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The Bordeaux tradition of blending these grapes is followed to make a more harmonious wine, and no oak is to preserve the purity of the fruit. A gorgeous bright, crimson purple in appearance, with aromas of dark berries (blackberries, blackcurrants) and Morello cherries. The palate is dense, harmonious and balanced with an aromatic, spicy finish of liquorice. Wonderfully fresh, with richness and excellent drinkability.
