Howard Park 'Terroir' Margaret River Chardonnay
The palate exudes fleshy primary fruits, layered with nutmeal, lemon butter and brioche. A chalky, mineral texture and fresh citrus acidity continues the bounce.
Vinaceous Shakre Margaret River Chardonnay
It’s very easy to enjoy this 93pt Chardonnay, as Sam Kim notes: “Elegantly complex and inviting, the bouquet shows white flesh peach, Gala apple, lemon zest, and nougat characters with a hint of oatmeal. It's beautifully weighted in the mouth, displaying a finely flowing mouthfeel backed by bright acidity, finishing long and refined.” (Wine Orbit). Vinaceous is a dynamic, somewhat quirky enterprise utilising colourful names and labels and excellent fruit usually from Western Australia’s Margaret River and Great Southern. “The wines (from Vinaceous) are of seriously good quality and equally good value” says Halliday.
Evans & Tate Wild Cape Margaret River Chardonnay
Refresh yourself with this 92pt Margaret River Chardonnay from a top, Five Red Star-rated estate. “Pale lemon hue, bright and clear in the glass. Fragrant nose of lemon zest, cashew nut and struck flint. Tight and focused from entry to finish with lemon balm, oyster shell and a hint of buttery richness underneath. There is a lot of wine here for the price. 92pts” (Stuart Knox, The Real Review). Ray Jordan calls it “a mighty impressive chardonnay for this price. It a wild fermented and then spent 11 months in oak on lees before more time in stainless steel before bottling. Plenty of melon and light cashew with an understated stone fruit influence. Finishes with a twist of lemon.”. I Evans & Tate was founded in the early '70s when its prized Redbrook vineyard was established at Wilyabrup. Under winemakers Matthew Byrne and Feleasha Prendergast they maintain a top-rating in the Halliday Wine Companion.
Credaro Five Tales Chardonnay
Howard Park Miamup Chardonnay
Vibrant in appearance and pale lemon in colour. An array of subtle and intricate notes of dried pear, honeysuckle, lemon /lime citrus oils, peach, minerals, nuts and caramel. Very silky in the mouth with a lemon curd tart zest and richness. The talc-like minerality, fine acidity and guiding oak add length, definition and structure to the palate. This wine is full of mouthwateringly beautiful flavours, great subtlety, finesse and complexity.
Xanadu Fusion Chardonnay
Xanadu Fusion Chardonnay gives an elegant bouquet full of pears, grapefruit and gala apples with underlying hints of nougat and cashew. The palate is medium bodied displaying white fleshed stone fruits and zesty citrus flavours. The wine offers an almost crystalline minerality, complimented by a lovely creamy/marshmallow texture derived from lees stirring whilst in barrel. Taut and fresh, the bright fruit and crisp acidity combine to focus the wine perfectly to a lingering fruit finish.
Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling
This stunning Riesling from the West is all limes and citrus with great length and depth of flavour. The only problem with this wine is there is never enough to go around.
Goundrey Homestead Unwooded Chardonnay
Goundrey Unwooded Chardonnay is a bright and youthful Chardonnay that displays fresh varietal characters of melon and peach. Without the hindrance of oak, the vibrant, fresh fruit characters can be shown at their best.
