Vines have flourished in the Luberon for hundreds of years with the grapes benefiting from the warmth of the Mediterranean climate whilst retaining a lovely fresh finish. APPEARANCE: Pale and pretty in crystal-clear pink with orange undertones. AROMA: The nose is delicate and fruity with notes of white peach and apricot mixed with passion fruit and mango. PALATE: The taste is full, fresh and crisp with echoes of the fruity aroma amplified by citrus zest and sweet spices (cinnamon and cardamom). In 1896 Marcel Ott of Alsace found an estate which inspired him, Château de Selle in Tarandeau, Provence, where once olives, lavender and mulberries grew. Enjoying a unique microclimate, the wines are delicate and elegant with great depth. In the 1930s, Marcel Ott fell in love with the very old Clos Mireille, overlooking the sea at La Londe Les Maures, near Brégançon. The vines soon started producing distinctive yet subtle wines. Château Romassan in Bandol was acquired by the Ott family in 1956 and following years of terracing and replanting, produces robust, harmonious and long lived wines. Cur de Grain represents wine-making genius, and today the distinctive bottle evokes the memory of the elegant amphora of centuries past. Today, 120 years later, cousins Jean-François and Christian Ott dedicate their lives to their ancestors love for Provence. In 2004, Domaines Ott* joined Louis Roederer and its fabulous selection of wine craftsmen.

Alsace is in the far north-eastern corner of France and is noted for its excellent white wines. It is the only AOC region in France that is allowed to produce wines designated by the name of the grape variety from which they are produced. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Hugel family gained an enviable reputation for their winegrowing skills and for the meticulous way in which they cultivated their vineyards. While it's typical for one of the wine world's most northern climates to produce vintages of distinct character, the latest stands out, delivering some of the lowest yields in the last 30 years, extremely high acidity levels and healthy fruit harvested at high ripeness levels. The bouquet is very aromatic with white peach, fresh almond, green apple and floral notes. The wine is dry on the palate, fresh and well balanced, with a supple finish.

The Guigal family owns vineyards in prime locations throughout the Appellations of Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage and Saint-Joseph from where their iconic wines are produced. The Guigal cellars are located in the centre of the town of Ampuis, on the right bank of the Rhône River, about 40 km south of Lyon. The Côtes du Rhône region stretches 200 km from Vienne in the north to Avignon in the south. Côtes-du-Rhône is the workhorse red of the southern Rhône Valley and is blended from up to 13 grape varieties, but usually leans heavily on grenache and syrah (Shiraz). Deep, bright, garnet-red in colour, it is a fresh, crisp wine with small soft fruit and spices. A full-bodied, elegant wine, with mellow tannins, warmth and aromatic intensity.
