From the owner of Château Lynch Moussas, Horizon de Lynch proposes to be an affordable red in the style of Moussas, and typical of the quality to be found in the Haut Medoc. The wine is a lovely blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. It displays sweet blackberry and forest floor characters, with ripe tannins, excellent balance and an elegant finish.

Mourvedre, otherwise known as Monastrell or Mataro, is rarely seen as a straight varietal in Australia. Here, it is most famous as a component of the trinity of Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre (GSM). On its own fully ripened Mourvedre can be a rich and flavoursome red. Around the world straight Mourvedres are gaining an appreciative audience with their distinctive dark fruited meatiness. This wine is a French demonstration of the Mourvedre grape's capabilities. Grown on calcerous soil on the warm Mediterranean coast, the Maison de la Villette Mourvedre immediately impresses with its intensity of colour and dark, spicy fruit aromas. On the palate, it is very long and full-bodied with well-balanced tannins. The finish gives an impression of velvety smoothness. It boasts loads of character and power! Ideal with grilled meats or aged cheese.

Nero d’Avola is the workhorse red wine of Sicily. This superb, squeaky clean example boasts robust dark plum and cherry fruit flavours with lick of liquorice and spice. It’s just perfect game meats!Sicilian winemaker Maurizio Mauriz was delighted to witness Australia’s enthusiasm for his wines during his visit last year. Johanne Pfeiffer and Christian Auricht sought a new life in the Barossa, where they married and raised a family. They brought their traditions with them, including brides wearing black dresses on their wedding day. Sadly, Johanne was widowed in 1860, and this wine is named Black Widow in her honour.

The wine has a tawny colour with hints of red. The aroma is a mix of ripe berry fruit, with rancio characters from extended barrel maturation. On the palate there is ripe fruit giving a generous mouth feel with hints of vanilla and chocolate. The wine has an attractive drying finish.

An elegant and fresh nose of black cherry with hints of toasted hazelnut. On the palate, a beautiful fruitiness enhanced by a very pure structure that fills the mouth, despite light tannins. Carried by its freshness, this dominant of very ripe cherry stretches in length, then evolves on notes of roasted hazelnuts.
