Located in the High Eden sub-region of the Barossa, Mountadam was originally established in 1972 by the late David Wynn for his winemaking son Adam. Since 2005, it has returned to being a family owned and run winery, with David and Jenni Brown overseeing its success. The Barossa Ink Shiraz is intense purple red in colour with great density. The bouquet is rich with plum, raspberries and dark cherries, with underlying hints of dark chocolate, coffee bean, and spice. From the wizards at Langmeil comes a wine of stunning character, truly reminiscent of the Barossa region. Delicious, rich aroma of blueberries, raspberries and Satsuma plums fills the nostrils with hints of mocha, Anzac cookies and briary spice. The palate is bright, juicy fruit lives up to the aroma and is balanced nicely with sweet oak, briary and peppery spice and youthful, firm tannins. The palate is quite full with a long, velvety, fruitful and spicy finish.
