The makers used more stainless steel than oak in its production, thus capturing the vibrant, fleshy fruit flavours of the vintage. Soft tannins add to the fleshy texture and drink-now appeal.

This new and exclusive Trophy winning Shiraz is a high quality, single vineyard Shiraz from Barossa Valley icon, Château Tanunda. An opulent, full-bodied wine with lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry and cracked black pepper supported by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate. The extensive finish is framed by elegant, fine-grained tannins from maturation in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels. The Château Tanunda Mattiske Road Shiraz 2015 was awarded the Trophy for Best 2015 Shiraz at the 2016 Marananga Wine Show. Gold Medal and 95 Points at Barossa Wine Show 2017.

Dark fruit aromas of baked plum, blackberry and dark cherry compote. Cocoa dust, red licquorice and butterscotch also add a layer of complexity and sweetness to the nose. Mouth coating dark fruit fills the palate, with hints of leather and black pepper, tannins are soft, round and roll throughout the finish.

Gravel Track pays tribute to the long gravel and limestone track that winds its way through our historic 60-year-old Farms vineyard. Lifted aromas of red cherry and raspberry complemented by clove and lavender on the nose, with a rich, earthy and vibrant palate. Soft velvety tannins provide a silky yet persistent finish, punctuated with bright redcurrant and blueberry characters and a subtle background of spice from twelve months French oak maturation.

Neville Rowe, Chief Winemaker, first discovered the wonder of wines as a teenager, when he stole a bottle of aged Riesling from his father’s cellar to enjoy with his girlfriend – he hasn’t looked back since! Neville is a firm believer that the most important piece to the puzzle (in terms of winemaking) is starting with the best quality fruit.

Fermented for 7 – 10 days in traditional open top fermenters the wine undergoes malo-lactic fermentation in French and American hogsheads followed by twenty months oak maturation. Peter Lehmann Shiraz is always a reliable Barossa Shiraz. The nose offers lashings of dark plum with an underlay of dusted chocolate and the palate is brimming with rich fruit flavours restrained by soft fine grained tannins.

Nose: Dark berries & spice notes and vanillin oak aromas. Palate: Shows dark fruits, chocolate and spice aromas, enhanced by cedar and vanilla notes. Spends 12 months in French oak.
