Sitting high in the Adelaide Hills, Sidewood hand craft single vineyard wines of the utmost complexity. Their Chardonnay is made up of four French Chardonnay clones from the Ashwood vineyard and shows a crisp front palate with lifted layers of aromatic fruit. Each clone provides a unique flavour profile to the end result and delivers a wine displaying complex pear, peach & fig fruit flavours with some lovely nutmeg and sage spice notes.

The Adelaide Hills has positioned itself as the premier region for high quality Australian Sauvignon Blanc and after tasting Sidewood's Single Vineyard Sauv it isn't hard to see why. Bold flavours of citrus zest greet you on the nose and the initial palate followed by a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel. Length of flavour is also a stand out feature of this artisan version of the very popular style.

This grey-skinned grape Pinot Gris underwent a gentle winemaking process with minimal colour extraction from the skin that resulted in a beautiful blush hue. On the nose, aromas of pear and nectarine are complemented by notes of roses and Turkish delight that are introduced by the yeast. The soft palate is laced with pear and lychee flavours leading to a satisfying finish. This varietal can be enjoyed with oven-roasted chicken, meaty fish or pork dishes.

Shaw & Smith is a benchmark Sauvignon Blanc. This release shows ripe tropical characters with restrained grassy notes and crisp dry acidity. Delightfully fresh lively and flavoursome. Always a classic and always quick to disappear off the shelves.

Riesling has a strong affinity for the cooler climes of the World, and it is therefore no surprise that it would produce wines of great character in the Adelaide Hills. Whilst we made the hard decision to graft some of our Riesling vines over to Pinot Noir some years back, we have retained only the most promising clones to produce our Riesling as its perhaps the top white pick amongst staff and remains a labour of love. The Riesling crop, whilst minuscule, showed hallmark varietal characters and fine acidity nurtured by the cool nights and warm sunny days. Careful sampling in the vineyard, paying particular attention to flavour development and acid levels, meant the fruit was harvested on the 14th of March when the ideal balance was reached. Lifted floral aromas and the lively citrus fruit intensity are finely balanced by the tight structure and crisp natural acidity.

A dry, crispy white wine with pear, lemongrass and fresh herb flavours that delight the palate. Chapel Hill Pinot Grigio goes fantastically with food and is downright delicious alongside seafood dishes like salt and pepper squid. Jump on the Pinot Grigio bandwagon and enjoy the ride!

Vintage: The 2018 growing season started slowly, but warmer weather eventually helped to speed things up. Fruit set throughout the region was good and the low rainfall and warm weather from January to April resulted in great sugar development, while a cooler than average March offered ideal night temperatures for colour and flavour development. Nose: The nose exhibits aromas of bosc pear and citrus blossom, complemented by spicy notes. Palate: The palate is beautifully complex with pear, rock melon and lemon, followed by additional floral notes and a crisp, dry finish. Cellaring: Drink now or to 2022 Geoff Hardy's great-great grandfather, the original Thomas Hardy, first planted grapes in South Australia in the 1850s and was one of the founding fathers of the Australian wine industry. In 1980, Geoff left the then family company, Thomas Hardy and Sons, to make his own way in the Australian wine world. Geoff and fellow viticulturalist Ian Leask purchased the promising Pertaringa vineyard in McLaren Vale. A few years later, Geoff found the perfect location for producing cool climate grapes in the Adelaide Hills. He planted the vineyard in 1987 and named it K1 since this unique site was the first commercial planting of vines in the Kuitpo region in the southern Adelaide Hills. Three decades later, Wines by Geoff Hardy is made up of three South Australian wineries founded by Geoff - Pertaringa in McLaren Vale, K1 by Geoff Hardy in the Adelaide Hills and Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy sourced from a variety of premium regions across South Australia. These brands now make up Wines by Geoff Hardy and continue the 160-year old family tradition of pushing the boundaries of Australian viticulture.

The fruit is handpicked directly into a refrigerated container where it is cooled all day, then delivered to the historic Bleasdale cellars at dusk for whole bunch pressing in the cool of the evening. This delicate wine shows all the spice and perfume we expect from cool climate Pinot Gris. Nashi, ginger and rosewater perfume leads to a generous and textured palate with nutty complexity from the barrel ferment component. A satisfying yet moreish wine, textured and complex middle palate, with a hint of sweetness to complement spicy foods.
