This Gold medal-winning Sparkling Shiraz has been sourced from McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek vineyards and has lovely smoothness thanks to ageing in old French oak. Deep garnet with a touch of brick, it presents lifted cassis, olive, plum and beetroot aromas. Vibrant and layered, the palate has a refreshing mix of sweet red fruits with touches of spice, juicy texture, firm tannins and generous length.

As the only Tasmanian specialist devoted to the traditional methods from Champagne, this is a unique offering from a great region for sparkling. Honeysuckle and citrus scents are immediately apparent, with slight aromas of nougat, roasted nuts and a hint of strawberry from the Pinot Noir. Sam Wigan started out in the wine industry by working a vintage with his father at Peter Lehmann wines before heading to Geyser Peak in California. Returning to Australia with the winemaking bug, Sams style involves letting the varietal characteristics of the grapes shine through, by using natural/wild fermentation and malolactic fermentation, with minimal additions and no finings. Having a nice meal with friends and family is one of his favourite things, so he crafts the wines to be fun, drinkable and best enjoyed with food and good company.
