In 1843, Dr Lindeman, an upstanding man of formidable character, started his own winery. In doing so, he set his sights on civilising a colony of hard-drinking ruffians by introducing them to more gentlemanly pursuits, such as the enjoyment of a refined drop. This longheld tradition continues today with this handsome Cabernet Sauvignon, rich in blackcurrant and cassis, with a dash of fortified wine for a smooth finish. A fine wine by anyones standard.

Crimson with violet hues. Spiced plums and peppercorns with fruit cake and forest floor aromas. The palate is a mix of violets and spice with hints of dutch licorice and lingering plum and cherry flavours. This is a fruit driven, medium bodied wine with soft, silky tannins and a savoury, persistent finish.

The Bare Touch wines are made by Cowpunk winemaker Aaron Mercer using early picked grapes, free run juice and a 'hands off' non intervention approach. The grapes are naturally lower in alcohol and with far less skin contact than a traditional red wine, the free run juice is bright and vibrant with significantly lower tannins.
