Tropo Big Red750mL

From the team at Unico Zelo, the Tropo range is all about drinkability. Big Red has plenty of blue fruit on show with a near-even split of Syrah (Shiraz) and Merlot from Birdwood. Along with blue and plum fruit flavours, there's a herbal edge and lovely dusting of olive tapenade, a signature of Merlot. The tannin extraction has been restrained to keep this in a cool climate style with plenty of drinkability.

Turkey Flat Butchers Block Mataro Shiraz Grenache

The Butchers Block is a traditional Barossa blend made with grapes selected from the Turkey Flat vineyards, including some from the original old vine plantings. It is a blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvédre (Mataro). 'Part of the grapes come from the home vineyard that has some of the oldest vines in the Barossa, planted by Peter Schulz's great-grandfather Ernest Schulz. The wine has the drive, focus and intensity often missing from this Barossa blend; that said, there are both black and distinctly red fruit components, and the tannins are firm. Give it 10 years, then line it up with a top Rhone Valley example. Outrageous value' - Rating 94/100. - James Halliday.

Wirra Wirra Mrs Wigley Rose

Vino Intrepido Inherited Trait Metodo Ancestrale Lambrusco

Lambrusco is both the name of a wine from Italy, as well as a family of grape varieties used in the production of this wine. Though genetically connected each variety brings something a bit different to a wine, hence why they are almost always blends. The most traditional Lambrusco wines complete their fermentation in bottle, whereby the CO2 generated as a by-product is trapped in the bottle. Though slightly spritzy these are not aperitif wines, designed to be had with the food famous in the Emilia region.
