An intense, bright cherry-red wine with delicate tawny reflections, showing beautiful legs from its sweet content. On the nose, it reveals a concentrated bouquet of ripe black fruits, licorice, and violets, layered with vanilla, spices, and a touch of toasted bread. On the palate, it is well balanced, with depth and structure, leading to a powerful aftertaste and a long, pleasurable finish. Spanish big guns, Remírez de Ganuza have produced a quite sublime old vine Tempranillo blend from the famed Rioja region that will defy all expectations. There are minuscule volumes produced of the Cirsion by Bodegas Roda (the name of the thistle which is Roda's logo) which is made from grapes specially selected for the suppleness of the tannins they deliver. Parcels selected are from low-yielding older Tempranillo vines of 45 years and more, from four vineyards. Choosing the plants with the softest tannins, this makes the wine very attractive and supple early on, but it still has great ageing potential.

Squealing Pig is a tale about a pig who wanted more from life. Keen on wine, but not a fan of the boar, he went on an adventure to Marlborough and Central Otago seeking out Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Rosé wines with a difference. Pale salmon colour it is a crisp, silky smooth style of Sparkling Rose. Intensely aromatic on the nose and tastes full and luscious on the palate.

This rosé is unashamedly modelled after the fabulously rich, gloriously scented and bone dry rosés of Provence. A fruit-filled palate makes it best served chilled with a summer seafood salad.

Grenache is Australias signature grape variety and were slightly obsessed with it. Utilising a range of premium vineyards across The Barossa and McLaren Vale regions of South Australia, Thistledown have crafted a wine that captures all that is good about Grenache. Aromatic, deceptively light but with beautiful wild fruit, and slurpy, supple tannins.

From Kym Teusner, one of Australias most iconic winemakers right now, this exceptional Shiraz Mataro drinks like twice the price. If you didnt know in a blind tasting that it was a $30 wine, youd be quite happy paying $40 or $50. The Shiraz leads with loads of really beautiful, bold, opulent fruit thats typical of the Barossa, while the Mataro sits in the background, plumping up the tannins like a Cabernet, to add definition and structural balance. The two are just working together so well and thats why we simply couldnt deny this wine the best of the best. Simply superb!
