In 1843, Dr Lindeman, an upstanding man of formidable character, started his own winery. In doing so, he set his sights on civilising a colony of hard-drinking ruffians by introducing them to more gentlemanly pursuits, such as the enjoyment of a refined drop. This longheld tradition continues today with this handsome Cabernet Sauvignon, rich in blackcurrant and cassis, with a dash of fortified wine for a smooth finish. A fine wine by anyones standard.

This Cabernet Sauvignon will impress, with impenetrable mauve and violet hues, it has intense aromas of red berries, sweet blackberry jam, a touch of vanillin oak and Eucalypt characters. Subtle fine velvet tannins marry perfectly with the intense, concentrated palate of ripe blackberries, blackcurrant and well integrated oak to create complexity and depth that persists to a long, flavorsome finish.

This traditional blend has distinctive varietal characters of plums, coffee and dark chocolate with hints of violet flower. It is a wine of great length with textured soft tannins.

A much-loved South Aussie red, this blended red is rich in black fruits that fill the mouth. Raspberry, red currant and plum fruits are balanced with fine sandy tannins and cedar oak. This medium to full bodied wine has a lovely balance and style in true Church Block character. Church Block was the first wine the late Greg Trott produced under the Wirra Wirra label back in 1972. He took the name from one of the original vineyards, which runs next to the small Bethany Church (Est 1854) across the road from Wirra Wirras century old ironstone cellars. This wine from Limestone Coast has complex terroir of minerals layered with rich aroma of plum, blueberry and vanilla beans. It has the perfect balance between fluitiness and earthy complexity from the slighly acidic soil.
