Planted in 1979 at an elevation 300 metres, the cool-grown Chardonnay here ranks with the regions very best. David Bicknell is a Chardonnay perfectionist with a passion for terroir and contrasts in the characters of different vineyard sites. In the glass: Bright fine straw with a green hue. On the nose: Fabulous purity and lift with ripe, complex stonefruit combining with lees and struck match magic. On the palate: A complex funky monster! It shows tremendous depth and umami being satiny soft throughout with amazing refined power and balance and extraordinary length and persistence. Classy!

This is a classic Yarra Valley Chardonnay from the Wedgetail estate, elegant, generously and voluptuous in style. It offers aromas of citrus, cashews, pear and a hit of vanilla. The mouth fill is full and satisfying with a crisp finish. Drinking beautifully now, and if well cellared will age gracefully for the next 5 to 8 years.

A lovely off white, copper hue to the wine. Not quite rose, but a really appealing blush. The nose has mandarin peel, fennel and a touch of funk and wet earth. Palate is racy, with cumquat and dried flower notes. Finishes with a vanilla note, and a savoury, phenolic bite. Theres skinsy and bunchy notes throughout, but they are in harmony with the pristine fruit and energy of a white wine from this cool, humid year.

A truly exceptional expression of chardonnay - Pale yellow with fine bubbles and persistent mousse. Delicate and floral, with a creamy mid-palate and a lingering, zippy finish. Apple aromas with hints of nut and toast. Primary fruit flavours of pears and apples and hint of nectarine. A gentle creamy texture, soft acidity and a long finish. Perfect with seafood particularly oysters and mussels.

Initially there are citrus notes,lemon and grapefruit, but then riper characters, more suggestive of melon, pear and driedapricot quickly become the dominant players. The palate is rich, concentrated and textured.There are flavours of lychee, ripe pear, apricot and blackcurrant leaf. The palate is defined bypersistent acid, chalky phenolics and a long, persistent finish.

A classic and refined style with some citrus characters framed by bakery and subtle vanilla spice, the iconic Triolet is a classic Bordeaux Blanc blend, incorporating the three varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. It was first produced by Mount Mary in 1987. The varieties are fermented separately in barrel with complexity and palate weight gained from extended lees contact and fermentation on solids.
