Lights Valley Surveyor General Shiraz

Lights Valley wines commemorate Colonel William Light and his discovery and naming of Barossa Valley in 1837. Barossa Valley was named in memory of the British victory over the French in the Battle of Barrosa in 1811. However, due to clerical error the valley was misspelt Barossa. Tasting Notes: The Surveyor General Shiraz offers generous flavours of black fruit, chocolate and hazelnut. Fine tannins provide impressive depth of palate.

Peter Lehmann The Pastor's Son Barossa Shiraz

The late, great Peter Lehmann was indeed a Pastor’s Son, a fifth generation Barossa winemaker and a legend in his own lifetime. The son of a Lutheran preacher, he became a champion of small independent grape growers in the region, buying their grapes through the tough days of the 1970s when the big wineries reneged on their contracts. This earned Peter the title ‘Baron of the Barossa’. Those growers never forgot his generosity and always stayed loyal. With a fabulous wine range including the world class Stonewell, no one did more to elevate the Barossa to cult status than Peter. His generous spirit lives on in this hearty, big spice Shiraz. With a l-o-n-g list of Gold-medal vintages, there’s great hope for this just-released 2022 vintage. Rich, chocolatey, with a peppery vanilla edge, it’s supreme with rare beef, roast lamb or veggie casserole with dumplings.

Jack West Wines Barossa Shiraz

Jack West is a name that rings big and bold, just like the character of these wines. Every grape used to craft this wine is grown by brothers John and James Lienert in their vineyards on the Barossa's western ridge. Here, the broad blue skies, long sunny days and famed terra rossa soils allow big flavor and solid structure to develop naturally. This is a flavoursome and generous wine, made in the vineyard and hitting the mark for those seeking classic Barossa reds.

Jack West GSM

The newest release from elusive and enigmatic winemaker and grapegrower Jack West. Sourced from vines planted in the rich red soils of the Lienert Vineyards, where the fruit ripens lazily under the big blue skies of the Barossas western ridge. The result is a wonderfully flavoursome blend of Barossas three hero red varieties Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro. The Grenache brings vitality and juicy red fruits. Shiraz provides richness and dark fruits, with Mataro playing a key role delivering structure and a good dose of spice.

Head Red Shiraz

Head Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. It focuses on single site Rhône varietals from the Barossa and Eden Valleys in South Australia. Head Red is a barrel cull from Barossa vineyards including 'The Blonde', 'The Brunette' and The Contrarian single vineyard Shiraz wines. It allows a pre-view of the vintage quality to come and keeps the quality of the Single vineyard wines as high as possible. The wine receives 12 months barrel age in predominantly older French hogsheads allowing the vintage and terroir to show clearly. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Paisley Boombox Barossa Valley Shiraz

Barossa Valley Shiraz with several high point scores and "gobs of ripe blackberry, Doris plum and boysenberry fruits.... Plenty of Value here... 92pts" (Halliday). Former amateur DJ (hence the unusual wine name), Derek Fitzgerald made wines for nearly 20 years in WA, Langhorne Creek and the Barossa Valley before his wife Kirsten, gently persuaded him to make wine on their own account. Sam Kim Wine Orbit finds it "delightfully fragrant..."Ken Gargett is a fan too, calling it: "Rich, ripe and bold, this is big (in flavour terms) and generous with good intensity throughout and very good length supported by firm tannins. A seamless style, it will drink beautifully for at least a decade. 93pts” (Ken Gargett, WinePilot).

Glaetzer Wallace Shiraz Grenache

Ripe old vine Shiraz from the heart of the Barossa contributes weight and texture Grenache adding cherry toffee earthy characters and solid savoury tannins. Will reward careful cellaring for a decade.
