Peter Lehmann The Pastor's Son Barossa Shiraz

The late, great Peter Lehmann was indeed a Pastor’s Son, a fifth generation Barossa winemaker and a legend in his own lifetime. The son of a Lutheran preacher, he became a champion of small independent grape growers in the region, buying their grapes through the tough days of the 1970s when the big wineries reneged on their contracts. This earned Peter the title ‘Baron of the Barossa’. Those growers never forgot his generosity and always stayed loyal. With a fabulous wine range including the world class Stonewell, no one did more to elevate the Barossa to cult status than Peter. His generous spirit lives on in this hearty, big spice Shiraz. With a l-o-n-g list of Gold-medal vintages, there’s great hope for this just-released 2022 vintage. Rich, chocolatey, with a peppery vanilla edge, it’s supreme with rare beef, roast lamb or veggie casserole with dumplings.

Pirathon Blue Shiraz

Pirathon Blue Barossa Valley Shiraz The fruit for the Pirathon Blue Shiraz is sourced from low-yielding vineyards of traditional family growers in the north-western Barossa districts of Greenock, Moppa, Belvidere, Koonunga and Ebenezer. Each vineyard is harvested separately when the fruit is readythis can take up to two months. After picking, each parcel of fruit is crushed separately into open-top fermenters. During fermentation, hand pump-overs gently extracted colour and flavour from the grapes. The juice is fermented on skins for a week or more and pumped over by hand. After pressing, new and seasoned French and American oak hogsheads are filled and the wine is allowed to mature approximately two years. Mojo In Full Colour Shiraz

On the nose, black raspberry fruits with hints of smoky tobacco. The palate follows with densely packed, plush red fruits with lashings of all spice and white pepper. Tannins are soft and sleek. Lively, raspberry, spicy. Picked between 13.5 14.5 Baume. 7-day ferment on skins, then gently pressed. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. Storage in oak for 6 months combination of 1 to 3-year-old French and American oak then, blended and bottle. Shiraz South Australia's first vineyards were established in the 1830's. Enjoying a wide range of climates including the cool temperatures of the Adelaide Hills, to the hot summer weather of the Barossa Valley, South Australia is arguably Australia's most diverse wine producing state.It is from these wonderfully diverse regions that winemaker Marty O'Flaherty selects the best varietals to produce Mojo wines.
