Equally as enjoyable as an aperitif as it is with dessert, the Bothie displays beautifully fragrant aromas of fresh pine/lime, melon and lychee accompanied by extraordinary floral notes. The subtle, clean flavours of lemon sorbet, lemon tart and orange rind balance perfectly with the residual sugar creating a full, lush, round palate.

Mount Pleasant 1921 Vines Old Paddock Vineyard Shiraz, Hunter Valley The Mount Pleasant Block series calls on the hallowed vines planted by Maurice OSheathe Old Paddock (1921) and Rosehill (1946). The series also showcases limited quantities of wine from vines familiar to those who visit the winery, the Old Hill. Planted 1880, the vines provided fruit to OShea as hewed his reputation from and into the bedrock of the Australian wine story. Maurice O'Shea planted the Old Paddock vineyard when he took ownership of Mount Pleasant in 1921. These original 100-years-old vines produce exquisite fruit for the single-vineyard 1921 Vines Old Paddock Shiraz.

A wine of depth and intensity, grown on 70+ year old Hunter Valley Vines. Grown on the deep red volcanic soils from the hillside on Wynwood Estate and handpicked after an ideal growing season this is a Medium to Full Bodied Shiraz. The boquet is layered, displaying darker berry fruits, earth and French oak. The primary focus of the palate is fruit sweetness and natural acidity supported by fine tannins.

Handpicked in three passes through the vineyard, only selecting the perfect bunches on each run. The fruit was destemmed to small open fermenters for a brief cold soaking period where intense colour was gained immediately. Fermented at 18-25 ?C for approximately 9 days. Gently pressed to large format French oak barrels (~20% new) for almost 12 months maturation, before blending and bottling. Deep purple. Intense dark fruits coupled with lovely spice and red berries. Structural with powerful fruit, a long intense palate with seamless tannin.

This outstanding premium wine is deep crimson in colour. Intense berry fruit aromas, with hints of delicate oak. The palate is medium bodied, with rich blackcurrant fruit flavours. The tannins are soft & silky smooth. It's drinking beautifully now, but will continue to improve in the bottle.

Initially there are citrus notes,lemon and grapefruit, but then riper characters, more suggestive of melon, pear and driedapricot quickly become the dominant players. The palate is rich, concentrated and textured.There are flavours of lychee, ripe pear, apricot and blackcurrant leaf. The palate is defined bypersistent acid, chalky phenolics and a long, persistent finish.

On the nose, prepare for an abundant rush of ripe blackberry, black cherry, and boysenberry, beautifully accented by hints of cracked black pepper, allspice, and a touch of sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is full-bodied and rich, bursting with concentrated dark fruit flavors, a savory herbaceousness, and a long, bright finish supported by supple, well-integrated tannins.
