A thrilling must-try new white, and a name with a very colourful story behind it. Josef Chromy set up his winery in Tasmania in 2007 aged 76, having escaped from Czechoslavakia in 1950. We are very proud to have a Chromy exclusive, as Tasmania’s highly celebrated wines almost never leave the state! This fresh and elegant white exclusive takes its name from the source of its premium fruit – the Marchington Vineyard, planted on the Marchington estate, by a man called John Smith, the alleged illegitimate son of a King of England, shipped to Tasmania in the 1800s. With an alcohol level of 9%, the Bream Creek Late Picked Schonburger displays light yellow hues. This dessert-style wine exudes delicate aromas of rose petals, apricots and honey with subtle hints of Turkish delight and baking spices from the luxurious bouquet. Aroma: Lemon blossom, apple, mandarin, wildflowers and stonefruit with hints of musk and mineral. Palate: Refreshing flavours of lime and fresh juicy citrus with limestone minerality and a clean crisp finish. Seamless balance, mouth-watering tension and lasting concentration. Cold harvested at night. Following a brief period of skin contact the grapes are carefully pressed using fully protective handling to avoid juice oxidation. This preserves naturally vibrant varietal aromas and flavours. Juice is racked off solids and fermented slowly at cool temperatures in stainless steel to enhance freshness. Bottled under screw cap. Ninth Island is one of the labels of the Kreglinger group. Krelinger is a Belgium based company that was formed as a family business in 1797, their business brought them to Australia in 1897 but it was not until the year 2000 that they diversified into wine. Ninth Island represents the second label of the Pipers Brook vineyards, based in Tasmania. The name refers to a tiny island that sits alone in the Bass Strait, just offshore from the Pipers Brook Estate. The Ninth Island vineyard can be found on the banks of the Tamar. The site is comparatively warm and perfect for the production of table wine styles such as Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. They are predominantly made as early drinking styles, with all the fruit sourced from Tamar valley. The Ninth Island's windswept, pristine environment is the inspiration behind this modern range of wines that capture the wild flavours of Tasmania.

This Sparkling rose by Jansz is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot meunier. Intense aromas of Turkish Delights, rosewater and strawberries fill the nose, while the mouth comes alive with luscious layers of Pinot truffles and the creaminess of bright rose and strawberry fruits.

Tasmania is producing world-class sparklings and this is one of the very best examples. Subtle complex and elegant it shows fine intense fruit with classic toasty creamy yeast character.

The cooler climate of Tasmania has helped to produce a wonderful Riesling; full of flavour and acid. Given these characters are in abundance, this wine should cellar for decades.

Josef Chromy Chardonnay is a classic cool climate style, showing notes of melon and granny smith apple, some mid palate creamy richness and taut linear acidity. Fruit is sourced from Josef Chromys estate vineyards in Relbia in Northern Tasmania. The Chardonnay is gently pressed to stainless steel for a cool ferment with full solids retained for fermentation to give richness and texture.

With its generous aromas of lifted white pear, stone fruit, wild flowers, grilled nuts; the palate delivers a balanced tight mineral acidic line, white stone fruits and melons, supported by prominent oak barrel.
