With it's fruit sourced from cool climate Tasmanian vineyards, the wine has notes of fragrant apple blossom with ripe fruits of yellow peach and mandarin, augmented with hints of five spice. The gentle tannins intertwine effortlessly with a blackcurrant fresh acidity and the light spice of considered French oak.Beyond the Wilderness, at the extremities of the earth, deep in the southern oceans lies a pristine land. Cool by prevailing westerlies whipped up by the Roaring Forties, this is Tasmania. Only 1% of this remarkable land is planted to vines which are producing some of the world’s most exciting new wines.
Ghost Rock Sacrifice Pinot Noir
Although borderline inaccessible by road, Tassie's scarcely-touched Cradle Coast continues to produce stunning Tasmanian pinot noir. Medium bodied, complex red and black fruit, slight earthy notes and a long, classy finish. Sounds like Tassie to us! Bruised raspberry, black cherry, warming spice and a subtle, but ever-present, touch of oak. Yep, this is Tassie pinot through and through. From Tasmania's wild and untamed Cradle Coast, the refined beauty of this wine seems incongruous with its place of origin. That is, of course, until you look a little deeper. There's a subtle gnarliness underpinning every aspect of this wine, like a boxer with a pretty face. Just because something's completely gorgeous, doesn't mean it can't pack a punch.
