Red in colour, this is a fragrant and silky Pinot Noir wine with raspberry, cherry, vanilla, mixed spices and a mineral note. Riversdale Estate Scorpio Pinot Noir
Freshness and an easy flow - red petals drifting down a slow-moving river, perhaps. There's a little whiff of umami on the first smell, vegemite maybe, but it quickly blows off. Black cherry, davidson plum, crushed pomegranate and cooking chocolate - there's a nice mix of bright and brooding fruit. Satiny tannins please the palate before turning savoury and some notes of tart red fruits spring up in the back palate with the acid to add complexity. Very much a Pinot to drink now. Drink: 2022-2024. Price: $35. Rating: 90/100.
