The Hill Block straddles the ridge running through the Chapel Hill estate. The wine was then aged for 19 months in 100% tight grained French oak. The proportion of new oak was kept low to encourage the continued expression of the characters that are unique to the vineyard site.

Mid weighted generous dark plum, black cherry and liquorice fruits carry plenty of flesh across the palate. Scorched earth, clove and peppered meat elements lie underneath. Nicely integrated fine grained tannins concluding ripe and savoury. Drink over the next 4-5 years. Alc. 14%

Yangarra Thorpe & Smart Shiraz

Thorpe & Smart Shiraz is a celebration of individuality, history and regionality from Yangarras estate vineyard in McLaren Vale. This wine pays homage to the prominent pioneering families of the region to be a true local you must either be a Thorpe or a Smart. The elevated blocks, with their variations of ancient soils and cool air flowing down from the nearby ranges, produce an elegant Shiraz with finesse. While full flavoured, there is intrigue of perfume, bright primary fruit, and soft silky tannins, pairing well with roasted red meat and aromatic spices.

Clarendon Hills Domaine Clarendon Grenache

2015 Clarendon Hills Domaine Clarendon Grenache, Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Intense dark to black raspberry aromas intermingle with dark plum and liquorice followed by vanillin confectionary and spice. Rich, voluptuous in texture and exceptionally long in the mouth, this is one powerful Grenache. Succulent black raspberry flavours dominate over liquorice and ripe black cherries. There’s an echo of vanillin confectionary on the finish and loads of spice. Bright acidity with firm yet balanced tannins providing a robust framework. Very long conclusion of black raspberries, liquorice, vanillin confectionary and spicy pepper.

Wirra Wirra Woodhenge Shiraz

Big bold and tightly knit, Woodhenge will evolve over the following years as the style and full body of McLaren Vale fruit starts to integrate. Currently showing dark chocolate, mocha and mint over tones. As this wine ages and unfurls patience will be rewarded.

Full of finesse and flavour. Fresh mulberry, dark cherry and violet aromas rise from the glass and flow through to the palate, where blue fruits dance with olive, coffee and wood spice flavours. Medium-bodied, balanced, with power to burn. New French oak used to mature 20 per cent of the wine, with the remainder aged in neutral French oak. Only 240 dozen produced. Unfined, unfiltered, vegan, low sulphur.
