A new label and new take on a classic. The Eileen Hardy Shiraz is juicy, plump and full of life with a magnificent backbone of tannin and spice without being overbearing. A classic in the making.

Ulithorne Paternus Shiraz

From the oldest vines on the estate vineyard comes this dark and deep Vale shiraz. Great drainage in the sand-over-clay soil sets the stage for excellent concentration of flavour, presenting as blackberry, cherry, plum and spice. Twenty months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak rounds out the package with fine-grained tannins and a subtle cedary influence on the back palate. This is classic Vale old vine shiraz, inky and smooth, deep and complex.

Haselgrove Wines "Col Cross" Shiraz

Tasting Notes Aroma Dense, classic Shiraz characters of fresh blackberry, boysenberry and aniseed mesh seamlessly with dried spice and elegant French oak. Palate Concentrated and generous with dark fruits and black cherry, the old vines contribute complex spices, cinnamon and nutmeg. A full bodied, luscious and elegant wine that is perfectly balanced by fine grain tannins and lingering structural finish.

Kay Brothers Amery Vineyards Block 6 McLaren Vale Shiraz

Block 6 was hand-picked from the 125 year old vines on the 21st and 30th of March 2017, producing a healthy and clean crop of 11.37 tonnes. The grapes were crushed, de-stemmed and plunged twice daily while spending 11 days on skins in our traditional open fermenters. The wine was then basket pressed and matured for 20 months in 40% new French and American oak puncheons. Bottled in February 2019.

S C Pannell Koomilya

A blend of three Koomilya Shiraz blocks, the majority of which is sourced from non-clonal Shiraz grafted on Gewürztraminer (GT Block). This block was planted in 1970, and grafted in the early 1990s. The remaining Shiraz was sourced from the Mulberry Block & Spider Block, planted in the early 2000s with clones sourced from 130+-year-old Hardy Shiraz (Upper Tintara), the neighbouring vineyard. Hand-harvested on 24th February; GT Block 5.26 tonnes (two fermenters), Bobs Block 4.1 tonnes (one fermenter), Mulberry Block 2.5 tonnes (one fermenter). Final blend of 44% GT Block, 35% Spider Block & 21 % Mulberry Block. Fruit spent 15 days on skins in open-top fermenters before being pressed off, with the hard pressings removed to give a juice yield of approximately 40 litres a tonne. The wine was naturally fermented and transferred to stainless steel tank for 28 days, then racked into French vats (4,500-litre & 2,500-litre), and two 500-litre French puncheons. Here they underwent malolactic fermentation, before being racked out and left. 852 dozen bottled on the 23rd of February 2015, after spending a total of 10 months in oak.

Zonte's Footstep Z-Force McLaren Vale Shiraz

Z-Force is named in tribute to the Z Special Force, which was a special Australian Army unit created in World War Two to operate behind enemy lines. Z-Force’s members were from many countries and specialised in unique guerrilla warfare. Although disbanded after the war, Z-Force pioneered numerous operational techniques and tactics, many as daring as they were brilliant, that remain a model to this day. The surviving members of Z Special Unit last marched together on Anzac Day in Sydney 2010. The extraordinary bravery of their unit and its lost brothers are honoured in this wine, which is Zonte’s Footstep finest. Each bottle of this wine sold helps support the work of Legacy South Australia.

Hickinbotham Clarendon Shiraz

This is a playful shiraz, with aromas of forest strawberries and blackberry leaf; yet underlying those notes are more mature notes of cassis and blueberry, highlighted by hints of black pepper. The tannins contribute to an elegant structure that indicates this wine's ability to age gracefully into the future. Alan Hickinbotham established the vineyard bearing his name in 1971 when he planted dry- grown cabernet sauvignon and shiraz in contoured rows on the sloping site. He was a very successful builder, this his first venture into wine, but his father, Alan Robb Hickinbotham, had a long and distinguished career, co-founding the oenology diploma at Roseworthy in 36. In 2012 Clarendon, and the stately sandstone house on the property, was purchased by Jackson Family Wines; it is run as a separate business from Yangarra Estate Vineyard, with different winemaking teams and wines. The Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard covers a steep cut of country from the ridgetops above the village of Clarendon to the Onkaparinga River in the gorge below. Since its establishment in 1971, the Hickinbotham vineyard has become a part of Australias wine heritage, supplying fruit to produce many of Australias greatest wines. The Clarendon Vineyard has sold select parcels to Penfolds for Grange and to Hardys for their equivalent white flagship, the Eileen Hardy Chardonnay.
