A selected blend of cool-climate Pinot Noir from our premium vineyard sites. Whole berry bunch fermented and matures in French oak casks for 9 months, displaying classic yarra Valley fragrance, texture and elegance.

Hand picked fruit from select parcels from our best blocks. The blocks have an easterly aspect that enables them to avoid harsh afternoon sun. Picked early in the morning, hand sorted, destemmed and fermented in small batches. Fermented over two weeks with minimal intervention. Wines were pumped over at the start and end and only some gentle plunging towards the end of ferment. This allows the wines to retain purity of fruit and better reflect the vineyards they were grown in. After 6 months in older French barriques and hogsheads the wine was bottled with minimal sulphites added. The wine has aromas of red fruits, cherries and floral notes. An earthy palate with an undertow of dusty cherries, red berries and pomegranate. Some fine velvety tannins and bright acid make this a savoury and structural wine.

The Thousand Candles Gathering Field Pinot Shiraz 2022 is a remarkable blend of two varietals, grown in the picturesque Yarra Valley of Victoria. The deep ruby hue of the wine is alluring, hinting at the complex layers of aromas and flavors that await. On the nose, notes of ripe black cherries, plums, and blackberries entwine with subtle hints of spice and earthiness. A bright and complex aromatic profile displaying notes of pomegranate, dried strawberry, star anise and cranberry intermingle with hints of blue fruit, crushed violet, fresh tobacco and truffle. A finely structured palate offers both textural generosity and clarity of fruit expression. Red currant, dark cherry and cinnamon raspberry characters integrate well with supportive oak spice. Refreshing natural acidity gives the wine drive and line leading into a long and persistent finish.

Fruit for this wine was hand sorted twice & produced in two ways; one fermenter of whole berries & another of 100% whole bunches. Blended together. Matured in 300-litre hogsheads (roughly 20% new, François Frères). Ten months on lees before bottling, unfiltered. A graceful & savoury expression of Mornington Pinot Noir. Red plum, spice & dark cherry characters. Fine, supporting tannins. A lingering, perfumed finish of amaro spice.

This Yarra Valley estate grown Pinot enjoys the complexity of six different clones of Pinot Noir originating from Europe, America and Australia. A selection of the best barrels, were put to one side to blend a complex and fulfilling wine. The perfume of spices and black cherries with earthy characters jump from the glass. The palate is voluptuous, and light as it should be, the fresh acidity of the grapes creates a vibrant fruitiness on the finish.

A bright, fresh and delicate cool climate Pinot Noir. Whole bunches and a wild yeast ferment were used to produce lingering savoury flavours in the wine.

The first vintage of this wine, with the name derived from the 1990 plantings of Touriga that were dubbed the 'New Territories'. It's satin soft with fabulous structure.Deep red purple. Violets, plum, blackberry, dark cherry and five spice aromas. Shows a deep core of black fruit with attractive pepper and kitchen spice notes, bright acidity and silken texture, fine tannins and restrained, classy oak. Classy!

Bright ruby red appearance with a lovely crimson hue. Lovely nose, highly perfumed wine with red cherry, five spice savoury and floral notes dominating the aromas. The palate has a core of red fruit flavours around a backbone of natural acid. The mouthfeel is lithe and energetic with slinky fine tannins and a clean, fruit-driven finish. A wine made for immediate consumption that will improve with careful cellaring over the medium term.
