Three Ponds Holman Shiraz

A Gold and Bronze medal winner, Three Ponds Holman Shiraz was only made in very small quantities in years worthy of the Holman Estate label. Flaunting a dark purple colour in a glass, this Hunter Valley Shiraz has aromas and flavours of dark berries, chocolate, tobacco and saddle leather. Open fermentation and ageing in the finest French oak barrels has provided it with a great cellaring potential. It tastes best when paired with beef, lamb or poultry dishes.

De Iuliis Steven Vineyard Shiraz

The 2015 De Iuliis Steven Vineyard Shiraz shows a deep crimson colour with a purple hue and contains 13% of alcohol. Intense aromas of berry, spice and pepper flow from the vibrant bouquet while the palate is rich and juicy with flavours of black cherries, ending the wine in a captivating climax. This Shiraz varietal develops strong fruit characters with a cellaring period of 10 years and tastes best with slow cooked lamb shoulder and BBQ pork.

Mount Eyre Vineyards combines a European family tradition of winemaking with a generation of experience in Australia. This 'Nero' is testament to their history.Mid purple. Dark berries, liquorice, confectionary and crushed red petals. Mid weight with plum, black cherry and blackberry, hints of anise, Chinotto and bakers spice, fine-grained tannins and a long, silken finish. Deliciously drinkable!

Margan Fordwich Hill Hunter Valley Shiraz

Classical elegant Hunter shiraz, crafted from 50-year-old vines. Plums and violets on the nose, with touches of lavender and licorice. Savoury nuances mingle with juicy fruits on the palate, framed by smooth tannins. "A welcome confluence of 50yo vines, 12 months in (1st to 3rd pass) French barriques, volcanic loams and plenty of destemmed whole berries to impart a pulpy, lively jubiness to the fruit, all accentuated by a violet lift. Licorice straps and lavender notes, too. This is a benchmark medium-bodied Hunter red, drinking akin to a luncheon claret. Margan Ceres Hill Hunter Valley Albarino

Andrew Margan planted the first Albariño in the Hunter in 2014 and such has been its success, he’s planting more. The Spanish varietal’s ability to retain high levels of natural acid while ripening shines through. Peach, grapefruit and white flowers on the nose; clean minerally palate. Will age for 10 years. Freshly caught snapper, lime and salty chips come to mind.

Margan Ceres Hill Hunter Valley Barbera

The first and only Barbera planted in the Hunter. This juicy red has become the biggest seller at Margan's cellar door and the former 2019 vintage took out a Trophy. Rhubarb, cherry and spice on the nose, typical of this Italian varietal. Bright red fruits and savoury spice on the palate, enlivened with a crunchy acidity. Partners with tomato-based dishes and lamb. Medium bodied.
