A fruit-driven Chardonnay from the land of the long white cloud. Intense nectarine and kumquat aromas elevated by notes of sweet spice, vanilla and lightly buttered popcorn. The palate is plush and generous with an interplay of acid and fine oak tannin, focusing the flavours for a persistent finish. Born of the Waihopai Valley, The Ned represents the vibrant diversity that is so prevalent in the Marlborough wine-growing region. One of Marlborough’s famous peaks, The Ned mountain served as the playground for Marisco founder, Brent Marris, during his youth. A percentage of the grapes were handpicked and whole bunch pressed, with about 20% seeing French oak, the majority well-seasoned. A small percentage worked through malo with a substantial amount of button age to build mouth feel. The colour is golden straw. An aroma complex nose with layers of stone fruit, mingling with brioche. The palate is full-bodied and richly textured with fleshy stone fruit. This is an elegant Chardonnay with a lingering, lively finish.

Famous for their popular and flavoursome Sauvignon Blanc, Giesen produce an enticing and pure Riesling from the same region, Marlborough. Displaying notes of citrus, white flowers and ginger on the nose, this attractive off-dry Riesling shows subtle sweet flavours of lemon curd, mandarin and orange peel. Those flavours are then balanced beautifully with a structured acid backbone and minerality that keeps the succulent flavours dancing on the palate for an age.

Giesen's Pinot Gris is an beautifully aromatic and vibrant white wine balanced with subtle elegance. A nose of poached pear along with notes of almond, dry spice and a whiff of vanilla. In the mouth the wine continues to please with tropical fruit tones and a textural brioche characteristic. Along with the attractive fruit and moutfeel, the wine is impeccably structured with cooling acid lines and a length of flavour that is nothing short of persistent.

A slightly different take on Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with a lower than normal alcohol content which produces a very light and refreshing style that will allow it to be enjoyed by all for that little bit longer.
