This single vineyard wine from Kaesler contains no added preservatives. It presents a garnet / rhubarb colour in a glass. Attractive aromas of cherry fruit fuse with spicy notes and earthy scents to flaunt an attractive nose. Aniseed characters complement these fragrances, making way for a dry and soft palate. A sip of the wine reveals strawberry and raspberry flavours. The drink boasts of savoury tannins that are balanced by high glycerol. It ends in a captivating finish. Bin 138 draws its inspiration from the wines of Southern Rhône, where shiraz, grenache and mataro (mourvèdre) are blended in varying proportions to create full-bodied wines possessing rich and heady perfume. Each year fruit for Bin 138 is sourced from old Barossa Valley vines (some more than 100 years old).Bright red garnet in colour, with raspberry-leaf and pastille fruits on fruits on the nose supported by discrete hints of boot polish and stewed meats. The palate is juicy, dense, and more-ish - ironstone, fresh red and dark berries, permeated by super-fine tannins.Peak drinking: Now-2035
