A blend of 72% Grenache, 22% Mataro and 6% Shiraz matured in French oak for 10 months of varying ages. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a vibrant red hue. Spicy dark raspberry and red liquorice aromas mingle with fresh herb, graphite and pepper notes. Juicy dark raspberry, liquorice and dark cherry fruits flood the mouth with scorched earth and peppered herb elements lying underneath. Polished tannins finishing with good freshness, spice and plenty of succulence. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Alc. 14.2%

Grapes are hand-picked, up to 90% whole-bunch fermented, and the wine is matured in tank and old oak for a few months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Meta Grenache is a fresh and vibrant style with strawberry and red licorice flavours, typically showing juicy, meaty, mouth-filling red fruit flavours plus hints of smoke, roasted nuts and exotic spice. Old-vine fruit is used to create a thoroughly contemporary wine. Less than 300 dozen produced each year.

Cellar 13 Barossa Grenache is a modern Grenache that proves old vines can learn new tricks. Just like the Cellar 13 shed, this Grenache proves that its whats on the inside that counts. A racy palate of vibrant red fruits, with lovely ripe varietal characters with a hint of rose water. Fine dusty tannin from grape skins combine with slight stalk tannin to deliver a fine medium bodied wine with persistence.
