Poggio Anima Primitivo Salento Lilith
Dune Pyla Red Blend
Madame de Beaucaillou
Rex Mundi Cuvée Cathare
Deep, dark and dangerously easily to drink, Rex Mundi Special Edition is a beguiling black beauty. It was created by Parker rated winemaker Hervé Sabardeil, whose lavish elixirs have been enchanting us for over a decade. It is a Carignan-Grenache blend made from grapes taken from the very oldest vines – some over 100 years in age – grown on the finest slate soils of Maury in the Roussillon. As you might imagine yields are minute, which accounts for the depth of colour and intensity of flavour. Hervé aged half the wine in oak cask for six months to lend a luxurious layer of complexity. This is a powerful red, beautifully balanced and terrifically long with herbal spice nuances. Slips down nicely on its own, or with rich game pie.
Poggio al Lago Ripasso Valpolicella Ripasso
Silent Way Shiraz Malbec
The palate is immediately powerful, with good intense ripe black fruits, some pomegranate, a touch of cassis and ripe cherry. Tannins are present but fine, adding shape and texture. This is one of the more powerful expressions we have made- similar in structure to ‘22 and ’16. As always our Pinot Noir is beautiful drinking as a young wine, but our 2024 will repay a further 5 or more years in the cellar
Dune Empty Quarter Red Blend
2023 DUNE The Empty Quarter is a blend of shiraz / grenache / mataro along with a small amount of touriga nacional. A medium bodied wine of fragrance and substance. Glossy purple fruits, mulberry and dark cherry, sweet sage flower lift balanced with savoury notes of aniseed, cured meats, with some white pepper lift. The palate is juicy to start with blue and dark fruits, plum and blueberry, a little dark cocoa, fine and long tannins, supple and succulent.
Salvard Val de Loire Pinot Noir
Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille quietly go about their business producing true, supple wines from the clay and limestone plains of Cheverny in the central Loire. Having worked with the brother’s great-value Sauvignon Blanc for years now, we have turned our attention to the Domaine's tasty Pinot Noir that comes from a small, 1.5-hectare a plot of 10–20-year-old vines. Like its white sibling, this is all tank-fermented and aged. It has plenty of substance to complement the juicy fruit and crunchy redcurrant and pomegranate flavours. It's plump, vibrant palate accompanies a mouth-watering freshness that calls for another sip (or another glass, or another bottle!)
