Barbadillo, established in 1821, continue to be a very important Sherry producer from within the 'Jerez Triangle' in south-western Spain. Well known for high class, quality Sherry's, this Cuco Oloroso is made in a slightly different way than what is considered the norm. An oxidative process is used to develop the nutty, complex characters into the wine instead of the usual Flor yeast system. This produces an intensely flavoured Oloroso with a rich and smooth texture and dominant walnut notes. The finish covers the palate with a dense, velvet like feel.

Nectar shows complex flavours of caramel, dried fruits, figs, mocha, nuts and spices. As a sweet dessert wine served on its own. This fine mature tawny is made from the Barossa’s traditional tawny varieties, Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz, and has been blended to an average age of a 10-year-old wine. This exhibits a sweet and mellow palate with developed fruit and oak tannin characters.This tawny wine is assessed and re-blended into a solera-based system, enabling us to consistently release wines of such high quality. Only a strictly limited quantity of 10-year-old tawny is drawn from the solera for bottling each year, and the barrels are topped up with selected younger wine.
