Tom and Sam have been shortlisted for Halliday's Winemaker of the Year 2026. This is a new exclusive, a juicy and approachable Cabernet from the Clare Valley's high altitude Eastern. The Barrys’ vineyards along the valley’s Eastern Ranges, which sit between 480 and 500 metres above sea level...as Tom Barry explains: “You have 35 degree days but it will get well down below 10 degrees in the nights which really helps you build flavour and ripen the grapes evenly without high alcohol levels."

This Shiraz is sourced from only the best vineyards and crafter to pay homage to William Light's legacy for exploring, surveying and planning numerous famous South Australian icons. This deep red Shiraz is filled with aromas of blackberry and plum intergrated with toasty vanillian oak. On the palate it delivers layers of spice, cherries and chocolate flavours, with well-balanced tannins.

Jim Barry Watervale Riesling from the Clare Valley is all about the musk, bracing acidity and juicy limes. This perennial favourite Riesling never misses a beat, marrying concentration with finesse, current drinking pleasure with cellar-worthy wow factor. The cool-climate of the Adelaide Hills has proven to be a haven for Pinot Noir and is quickly establishing a reputation akin to the benchmark Australian regions. Tim Knappstein from Riposte harnesses the qualities of the region and the varietal with effortless ease with his The Sabre. Bright colour in the glass is followed by a lifted floral nose with a savoury edge. The palate is fresh, clean and superbly powerful. A delight.

Jim from Mount Pleasant accentuates a Shiraz with a cleanly structured mulberry and redcurrant with soft liquorice notes and a persistent high quality backbone.

Nine Lives Stone Wall Shiraz 2021 is deep purple in hue with aromas of dark fruits, plum, blackberry, and hints of cinnamon and nutmeg spice. The palate leads with generous flavours of blackberry and satsuma plum, alongside spice, toasty oak and graphite. The palate is framed by fine silky tannins and persistent fruit length.

It’s no surprise this style won Gold. The Barry Family are legends in the Clare Valley, and have used their rich soils and expert skills to produce this truly stunning 100% malbec. Aromas of violets, redcurrants, maraschino cherries and lavender flood the nose. The flavours are plentiful with blueberries, liquorice, violets, dark chocolate and black tea. The wine is full of energy and juicy fruit supported by fine gravelly tannins and fresh cranberry juice acidity. This 100% Malbec shows the potential of the variety to stand on its own and produce a delicious wine with vibrancy and elegance. The first vineyard that my grandfather, Jim Barry, planted in 1964 at our Armagh property was Malbec (900 vines). Since that time, Malbec has played an important part in our winemaking journey and is predominantly blended with Cabernet Sauvignon.
