Little Giant gets a natural and organic makeover thanks to some authentic lo-fi winemaking. The wines are the result of a collaboration between McLaren Vale winemaker Mike Brown and Corey Ryan of Little Giant the wines are exclusively sourced from a single estate vineyard in McLaren Vale. These are fresh, immediately drinkable, deliciously food friendly wines that are the essence of one of South Australias favourite wine regions.

The Syrah (Shiraz) is made with traditional winemaking using natural yeast fermentation over a four week period with 18 months barrel maturation in 20% new French oak. Intense dark cherry and mulberry fruits are allied to cedar and roasted spice aromas. The complex palate provides tannins of supple texture with a lingering length of flavour persistence. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

This is the epitome of exuberant McLaren Vale fruit in a big way. ALL the plum, black and red berries, a lick of silky licorice and a dab of molten chocolate. It’s always pleasing when wines from this producer land at the doorstep - a little smile of recognition is bound to pass your lips. Re-tasted on 07/06/2022 Magnificent colour displaying a pitch black core with a very deep black dark red hue. Pronounced black cherry, liquorice and black plum aromas are overlaid by scorched earth and smoked meats followed by spicy vanillin cedar and pepper notes. Tightly built rich black cherry and liquorice flavours dominate over inky earth, lightly scorched vanillin cedar, dried meats and blackpepper. Dry grippy finish with tightly grained tannins. Rich yet elegant and muscular in its feel. Good underlying power with a long black cherry, liquorice, smoky vanillin cedar, dried meats and earthy pepper aftertaste. Cellar 8-10 years. Alc. 14.5%

Oliver's Taranga have a long and distinguished history in the McLaren Vale and are custodians of some of the premier vineyard land in the region. Corrina Wright is now the winemaking brain behind this progressive winery and her Shiraz is a modern masterstroke. Smoke and bacon on the nose with sweet and savoury tones. Soft fruit flavours luscious mouth feel and great length to this wine. Delicious.
