From some of the earliest plantings of Shiraz in the Yarra Valley with vines dating back to 1969. Shiraz (96%) co-fermented with small parcels of Viognier, Marsanne and Mataro aged 12 to 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels produces a wine that is perfumed and feminine with the tannins and acidity as integral to the wine as the fruit. The Yarra Valley is renowned for its excellence in Pinot Noir and this expression is no exception. In the glass: Medium garnet red. On the nose: Ripe dark berry fruit. On the palate: Bold, quite powerul red plum and raspberry fruit with some background stalky, herbal elements. Firm and dry yet flavoursome and varietal.

Lychee and green Peach aromas and flavours characterise this wine. Addition of 10% aged Reserve wine contributes to the palate weight and length to give great drinkability. Try with Thai beef salad.

Beautiful blackberry, spice and cassis are the hallmarks of this variety. The Zonzo Reserve has captured all these characters and more on the nose and pallet.The palate compliments the perfume of this wine with lovely cool climate Yarra Valley characters of tobacco leaf, cassis and black fruits. Beautiful oak influences the palate and integrates with the fruit and tannin profile to deliver an elegant yet rich Cabernet.

With freshness on the palate and a leaning towards a medium bodied Cabernet, this is a lively mix of red currant, cassis, and moreish acidity, with aromas of tobacco, cassis and bay leaf - this is a classic cooler climate Cabernet.
