A true reflection of the region and the strong 2020 vintage. Deep crimson colour with perfumed aromas of black currant blackberries and cassis. A rich concentrated palate of black fruits liquorice with cedar oak spice fine acid line. Velvety chocolatey tannins. Drink now over next 8 + years. Medium weight, generous full flavoured with assertive tannins, that are not aggressive. Long lingering after taste, with oak influence minimal and supportive of the primary red fruits present. The aroma is reminiscent of dried Italian herbs, oregano, thyme, fennel seeds and basil. Subtle oak aromas with primary fruit of maraschino cherry and cranberry.

Complex bouquet, there are elements of fruit, winemaking and maturation aromas making for an intriguing experience. In 1983, Hugo Gramp’s legacy was honoured with the release of the first wine named ‘St Hugo’.
