Taylors Jaraman Shiraz continues the long tradition of producing flavour rich red wines from premium vineyards across South Australia. This Shiraz is sourced from the Clare Valley and McLaren Vale regions and brings a little bit from both worlds with rich, foreboding fruit from McLaren working in harmony with the aromatic and textured Clare Valley fruit. Delicious today, yet will cellar nicely for the medium term.

Dense garnet colour. An intense nose of brambly fruit, crushed violets and coffee on the nose with hints of leather and mint. The palate is medium bodied with flavours of blackberries, blood plums and dark chocolate. Ripe, earthy tannins are supported by cedary oak and balanced by fine acidity and great length.

Relish a sumptuous, 95pt, elite Single Vineyard Coonawarra Cabernet from the top-class Jim Barry estate. "There is a highly attractive, pure core of fruit on the mid palate (cassis, blackberry and blood plum swirl in a vortex of flavour… length is admirable… fine tannins… elegant wine… 95pts" (Erin Larkin, The Halliday Wine Companion). Clare Valley’s Jim Barry is a name known around the world – a byword for quality and wine expertise. A founding member of Australia’s First Families of Wine, the Barry family celebrated the 60th anniversary of its winery in 2020, the year it also scooped the title of Halliday’s ‘Winery of the Year’. Son Peter took over Jim Barry in 1985, and today brothers Tom and Sam – together shortlisted for Winemaker of the Year 2026) are pushing the bar even higher. Though the name Jim Barry is almost synonymous with the Clare Valley, the family own vineyards in Coonawarra too, and for this Single site beauty they use fruit from the Penola Cricket Ground vineyard, – literally an old cricket ground, they bought and planted in 1997. In the glass: Medium to deep red. On the nose: Red berry, plum, leaf and earth. On the palate: Bright and ripe with an excellent core of red and black berry fruit, savoury, mouth-watering tannins and vibrant persitence. Will improve over the next year or so as the tannins become more silken.
