A founding member of Australia’s First Families of Wine, the Barry family celebrated the 60th anniversary of its winery in 2020, the year it also scooped the title of Halliday’s ‘Winery of the Year’. Over three generations the Barry name has been famous throughout the wine world and synonymous with the Clare Valley. Jim Barry bought his first vineyard here in 1959, and even helped the Taylor family open their winery a decade later. Son Peter took over Jim Barry in 1985, and today brothers Tom and Sam, with sister Olivia, have raised the bar even higher. Tom and Sam have been shortlisted for Halliday's Winemaker of the Year 2026. This is a new exclusive, a juicy and approachable Cabernet from the Clare Valley's high altitude Eastern. The Barrys’ vineyards along the valley’s Eastern Ranges, which sit between 480 and 500 metres above sea level...as Tom Barry explains: “You have 35 degree days but it will get well down below 10 degrees in the nights which really helps you build flavour and ripen the grapes evenly without high alcohol levels."

Winemaking in the Clare Valley stretches back over 160 years. We celebrate a region and its heritage by producing this selection of its finest portraits. Admired for its beautiful landscapes, landmarks and world-class wine, the Clare Valley has a lot to offer - just like this flavoursome Cabernet Merlot. This classic blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which shows spicy and generous fruit flavours and is complemented by supple tannins. It delivers great length and generosity on the palate, and is perfect to pair with barbecued or grilled meat dishes.

The Pikes Eastside Shiraz is a rich ripe fruit Shiraz true to its Clare Valley origins. Dark berry flavours are integrated with the sweet oak character and long, satisfying textured finish.

This wine is generous and rounded at first with juicy, deep berry compote fruits then yielding to a tightly woven frame of firm yet generous tannins. There are alluring, coconutty oak and fine dark chocolate characters, with a deep, soft centre of ripe berry fruits. Elegant acids and light, long tannins carry the palate to deliver a lingering finish.

This Cabernet Sauvignon gives pronounced flavours of chocolate, red berries and black cherry skins with echoes of light tobacco and bramble on the finish.

Taylors Reserve Parcel Cabernet Sauvignon has an aroma of rich blackcurrant, subtle spice, tomato leaf and a touch of eucalypt. French oak maturation is also evident with subtle aromas of cedar and dark chocolate.

Winemaker Kevin Mitchell has set a new benchmark for Clare Valley Cabernet. A nose typical of cool climate Cabernet followed by generosity on the palate, all at a price that delivers great value for money.

By the Bend of a Brook is a vineyard planted to produce single block wines, where just about everything from the pruning, weeding & picking is done by the sweat of manual labour and a barking Kelpie. Only this fruit is in the SL Cab Sav. A lighter, fresher style of Cabernet,hand-picked with subtle oak. The wine was made in the Mediterranean style for casual, easy drinking. At a vineyard altitude of 400 metres above sea level the Adelaide Hills allows grapes to develop to full ripeness while retaining fresh cool-climate acidity and elegance.

The wine has a seductive, lifted with aroma characterised by plum, blackcurrant and dark cherry fruits along with subtle chocolate and a touch of oak derived spice. The palate is rich, luscious and round with intense, perfectly ripened fruit characters. Mocha coffee and subtle spice characters complement generous fruit flavours of plum and blackberry. The wine is medium to full-bodied with a soft mid-palate and supple tannins. It has a well-balanced structure with great texture, good length and lashings of fruit on the finish.
