Hither & Yon Carignan

One of the very few examples of Carignan produced in Australia. This is the first release of this wine from Hither & Yon and it's really approachable already.Bright purple in the glass. Perfumed nose of black cherry, plum and black pepper. Light to medium weight with a fresh core of fleshy black fruits and tart red berries with good balance of acid and tannin crunch. An excellent young-drinker.

Clarendon Hills Domaine Clarendon BDX

2016 Clarendon Hills Domaine Clarendon BDX Deep Crimson. A harmonious combination of forrest floor, polished wooden furniture, chocolate shavings with understated blackcurrant and blackberry fruit in what is a very low altitude, reserved expression. As the glass evolves the altitude of perfume slowly rises and a bouquet of cedar, roast almond, leather boot and blackcurrant liqueur finely interlace and create something quite unique and sophisticated. There is careful attention to detail across this finely polished and creamy smooth palate that evidently reflects the 40% Merlot inclusion. Layers of pure black fruit, earthy olive tapenade and subtle degrees of cigar tobacco, roast almond and baking spice nuance throughout this classical styled composition.

Descendientes de J Palacios 'Pétalos' Mencia

Petalos' is D.J.P.'s regional introduction wine to the Mencias of Bierzo. Absolutely gorgeous, plush, elegant and floral trademark roses and pepper tree perfume, bright and earthy at once, red fruits hybridised with the juice of rose petals, peppercorn and roast meat juice. Its very savoury, elegant, satiny but dry, long and supple with sour cherries and dried sage.

Pietradolce Etna Rosso 'Archineri'

Mount Etna is Europes highest volcano and one of the worlds most active. a Muntagna, as the locals call it, is rich in mineral components and the microclimate cool nights, warm days and wide ranging temperature variations endow the wines with extraordinary richness, minerality, fragrance and depth. From two contrade in Solicchiata, Rampante and Zottorinoto, Archineri is the most muscular and robust of these three wines. Girolamo Russo San Lorenzo Nerello Mascalese, Etna

Girolamo Russo San Lorenzo 2017 is a bright counterpoint to the broodier reds of the region, this single-vineyard wine is pure volcano, with black fruit and ash on the palate. It is finely perfumed with spice, strawberry and rich cherry. Juicy and elegant. Fruit comes from 100+ year old bush vines grown in relatively young volcanic soil in the San Lorenzo Vineyard. In 2005, Giuseppe Russo was drawn back to his childhood home on Sicilys Mount Etna to make wine. Named after his late father, he creates elegant and expressive wines that speak of the volcanos incredibly varied terroir. The crus (or contrade) in which Russo grows his grapes are among the finest on Etnas north side, and he conducts all of his production organically.

A Spanish/Italian rendezvous with the Adelaide Hills - a unique blend of 50% whole bunch Barbera and destemmed Tempranillo. Intensely aromatic and inviting bouquet of raspberries, blueberries and satsuma plum entwined with fresh thyme and sage with a hint of cured meat. The palate has good fruit intensity and vibrancy with fresh red fruit and a crunch acid structure. Subtle velvety tannins provide a savoury edge.
