This Zinfandel exudes flavours of plum pudding, black cherry and sweet spices on a rich, mouth filling palate. Hand picked, basket pressed and matured in the finest oak it is. Crunchy red cherries and an enticing blend of Asian all-spice, red liquorice and star anise, developing into warm mocha notes carried by fine grain savoury tannins and graphite notes characteristic of the Cape Mentelle's Wallcliffe vineyard.

A fine and quite flinty modern expression of Margaret River Chardonnay. Finer and leaner it might be in some ways, but the unmistakable power and persistence of the region still triumphs. Complex mealy grapefruit and roasted nut characters on the nose, and a deep and richly intense palate power through to the finish.

The palate also displays wonderful fruit and oak tannin, the result of 16 months oak maturation.
