Gew rz means spice in German, and there are some spicy elements to this exotic and luscious Gew rztraminer from one of the cooler sites of the Clare Valley.Simmering pale gold colour. Lychee, pear, melon and musk aromas. Juicy, plush and sweet fruit entry with a creamy mouthfeel, luscious yellow stonefruit depth, lime-like acidity, and a generous fruit-sweet finish. This Riesling offers citrus aromas followed by lemon and lime flavours with a crisp refreshing palate.

The fruit is from a Kirrihill owned vineyard in Watervale called “Slate Creek”, planted in the 1970’s. As you guessed, the vines are sitting on slate, which gives incredible results, the fruit has great concentration of flavour and minerality on the palate. The 2025 season was excellent for Riesling, we are super happy with how the wines are shaping up. The vines maintained very healthy canopies throughout the dry summer, and the vineyard team kept up with consistent and generous irrigation to meet the perfect ripening conditions. Picking at cool temperatures and quick transportation will avoid picking up colour, oxidation, maceration and therefore loss of quality, flavour and acidity.

The wine has great structure, with a burst of diverse flavors across the palate. Rich butter notes envelop the senses, along with hints of peach and nectar. The oak adds volume and strength to the mid-palate, showcasing rich stone fruit flavors, including fig, green melon, lime, and pineapple. The texture is generous and mouth-filling, leaving a long, lingering finish.

Pale straw colour with youthful green hues. The nose is lifted and complex with aromas of bergamot pear, lemon-lime citrus, beeswax and hints of almond. The palate is medium bodied, crisp and textural with pear drop, lemon curd and papaya flavours of supported by refreshing acidity leading to a fine, dry finish.

With the name of Tim Adams behind this exciting Riesling, it isn't hard to see why many have fallen in love with the wonderful, casual style aromatic white. Rich in lemon curd, lime aromas and flavour and with a touch of sweetness, this wine lends itself to some easy food matching; especially with Asian cuisine. Mouth-watering acidity and length of flavour will have you also falling in love with great Clare Valley Riesling.
