This Pinot Noir vineyard was established by Doctors Campbell and Christine Penfold in 1994 and Quealy have worked closely with them from the beginning.

Showing plushy red cherries and strawberries, followed by floral notes, forest floor and smokiness. On the palate it has velvety tannins and a perfect balance of fruit and secondary elements.

As well as having established herself firmly in Burgundy, having been named Winemaker of the Year by Frances top wine magazine, Jane Eyre also makes small parcels of top-sited pinots here in Australia. The emphasis is always on fragrance and elegance in these excellent wines.

The maritime climate of the Mornington Peninsula creates the perfect conditions to enhance the sappy plum and berry flavours in this wine. Secondary characters of truffles and cigarbox will develop with careful ageing.

Silky and round, this superb wine shows why William Downie is rightly considered one of the best Pinot producers in the country. A terrific example of Downie's philosophy of 'time and place', this Pinot is fresh and lively, with great flavour concentration and character. After a many years in bottle the wine will develop beautifully by releasing all the complex cranberry, plum and lavender notes.
