Yarra Yering is not only a Victorian icon, but a true Australian wine treasure. The Underhill Shiraz is sourced exclusively from the 1974 planted block of Shiraz at the western-most extremity of the vineyard. Drawn from soils with a higher clay base which has resulted in a wine of a more masculine bent offering darker fruits and spice with chewier tannins and a savoury undertone.

This Pinot Gris has a bright straw colour with lifted aromas of honeysuckle pear and floral notes. Ageing in oak has given the wine a creamy texture and with crisp acidity on the finish.

From the ever impressive Yering Station, this Chardonnay offers toasty barrel ferment characters, good supporting oak and ripe peach aromas leading to a textured and well rounded palate. One of the better value examples out there.

Oily and rich, yet pristine and super fine. The Estandon Saint Louis de Provence Rosé has earthy redcurrants, aniseed spice, crunchy acidity and a fleshy long finish that belies the brilliantly pale colour. It's a delightful summer drinking.

Chandon Vintage Brut is a fine elegant sparkling produced from grapes sourced from multiple cool-climate regions, with a slant towards quality Yarra Valley fruit. A reductive, flinty aroma overlays quince, nashi pear, pine nut, citrus blossom and lemon zest. Toasty brioche and chalky mineral aromas present in the background. An excellent palate, with primary fruits of tangy lemon and kaffir lime, backed up by secondary flavours of fresh pastry. Tightly wound acidity with remarkable freshness.

This wine is grown, picked and made to be elegant in style, with lifted strawberry Pinot Noir aromas. It is dry, yet succulent wine with fresh acidity and fine texture. A lovely aperitif enjoyed on its own or with lighter foods such as antipasto, pâté or fresh summer seafood.

Colour Pale colour of onion skin and copper. Aroma On the nose there are recognisable SOS characters of cantaloupe skin along with aromas of blueberries, plum, bay leaf and earth. Palate The fruit character brings a cassis juiciness into the mid palate which is soft and textured with hints of blueberry and plum fruit. The wine finishes bone dry with not much acid.

Port Phillip Estate Salasso Rosé is another example of it not mattering what what Sandro Mosele turns his hand to, it is always meticulous and carefully made producing a wine of brilliance. Bright and sparkling in the glass, the seriousness of the winemaking is forgotten when the lift berry flavours hit the palate.

In recent years Tarrawarra Estate Reserve Chardonnay has definately turned down the volume and has become a refined and elegant Yarra Valley style chardonnay with lovely citrus zest and white peach flavours. Complimented by a smooth and rich mouthfeel, every bit a quality Chardonnay.

Made only in the best years, this wine is concentrated and intense. Powerful yet elegant, it has fine and silky tannins and a long finish. This wine is delicious now and will age beautifully for the next 10 years.
