2021 saw the brand new release of Sam Trimboli’s first ever Rosé – and it was a smash hit! Customers went nuts, ordering case after case after case. And it wasn’t just customers who loved this new pink, the wine show judges did too. The Pink Duck Rosé waddled away with Gold and a massive 95pt at the Royal Queensland Wine Show. The 2022 is the fresh follow up vintage of the Pink Duck – highly anticipated by many to be another showstopping blush. True to Sam’s Italian heritage, it’s made from nearly all Montepulciano with a splash of Vermentino to add extra lemony zip. A pretty hue, lovely ripe fruit and zesty freshness. No need to fly north for this one, it’s glorious drinking in any season.

A plentiful mousse sits atop a pale straw base that has gold tinged edges and a fine persistent bead. Toasty yeast lees scents are intermeshed with baked bread, citrus, light honeyed notes and traces of nut. The palate is tense and sculptured with racy acidity running through toast, subtly honeyed pear, yeast lees and roasted nut flavours. Bryan Martin has been producing thought-provoking wines in Murrumbateman wine country since 2001. Their Estate vineyard is managed sustainably, focusing on soil health, and foregoing synthetic chemicals, herbicides, and fertilisers. Fruit is also sourced for their Regional Series from the surrounding Young, Hilltops & Canberra District regions. The 2022 Regional Sangiovese marks the 20th vintage producing this varietal, with fruit sourced primarily from the Hilltops region with a splash of Murrumbateman for elegance. After spending 3 weeks on skins as whole-berries, the wine is pressed to small 5 year old French oak casks for élevage, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The Malabar Chardonnay grapes are grown on the 50 year old, low yielding vines found in the H5 Block of Leogate Estates Brokenback Vineyard in The Lower Hunter Valley. The wine is a vibrant, fresh expression Hunter Valley Chardonnay with a mix of peach and pear flavours, softened on the palate by carefully used French oak barrels. A component of the wine underwent wild fermentation adding complexity and giving the wine a lingering finish.

Jansz Non Vintage Brut Rosé has a lovely pink colour, strawberries and summer berries on the nose and the palate. Soft, creamy finish. Perfect summer drinking.

Initial aromas for this Prosecco by Pizzini include yeasty and melon notes, as the wine opens up in the glass the nose smacks of citrus blossom, fresh lime, Wisteria flower and green apples. It is refreshingly fizzy with gentle, lemony acidity.
