Richard Angove was very lucky to have grown up in a winemaking family. Since 1886, five generations of his family have worked in winemaking and grape growing. In 2008 he worked harvest in the beautiful Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania. He just loved the landscape, vineyards and flavours of the wines. Many years later when the opportunity arose to work with a number of small growers to create a range of small batch wines, he could not resist the opportunity, and so Lost Farm Wines was born.

Whole bunch picked and gently pressed, then barrel fermented with 25% new oak for 11 months. Grapes grown in the Canberra District with its cool climate ripen slowly, allowing more intense flavours to develop. This wine has a bright golden straw colour and aromas of stone fruit and gentle oak, ripe melon and grapefruit characters with a well-balanced, long lingering finish.

The Malabar Chardonnay grapes are grown on the 50 year old, low yielding vines found in the H5 Block of Leogate Estates Brokenback Vineyard in The Lower Hunter Valley. The wine is a vibrant, fresh expression Hunter Valley Chardonnay with a mix of peach and pear flavours, softened on the palate by carefully used French oak barrels. A component of the wine underwent wild fermentation adding complexity and giving the wine a lingering finish.

Tasmanian Chardonnay rarely leaves the state.This not only comes from Tasmania but is made for us exclusively at the great, 5-Star Josef Chromy estate. A thrilling must-try new white, and a name with a very colourful story behind it. Josef Chromy set up his winery in Tasmania in 2007 aged 76, having escaped from Czechoslavakia in 1950. We are very proud to have a Chromy exclusive, as Tasmania’s highly celebrated wines almost never leave the state! This fresh and elegant white exclusive takes its name from the source of its premium fruit – the Marchington Vineyard, planted on the Marchington estate, by a man called John Smith, the alleged illegitimate son of a King of England, shipped to Tasmania in the 1800s. Northern Tasmania is widely known for the quality of sparkling wine produced in the cool climate region, with the first 1995 vintage of Pirie doing much to establish this reputation. Now a new chapter is born with Pirie NV Sparkling - A full flavoured cuvýe from a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir, boasting complexity and freshness. A vibrant lemony acidity with a full and rich mid-palate leads to slaty, mineral finish.

Sticks Yarra Valley Chardonnay is a quality cool climate Yarra Valley white with flavours of grapefruit, white peach, citrus and oak spice. Excellent texture, definitely a wine to enjoy today.
