Kendall-Jackson from the Sonoma County, just north of San Francisco, make a delicious Pinot Noir that has iIntense strawberry/black cherry/smoky/herb garden aromas and flavours with soft fleshy textures and underlying savoury/toasty oak.

Murphy-Goode Pinot Noir comes from vineyards up and down the coast of California, including Arroyo Seco, Santa Maria Valley, and Monterey. Cool conditions in these prime growing spots keep grapes at a perfect balance between vibrant dark fruit character and bright acidity. Notes of vanilla from aging in French and American oak add complexity to the intense black cherry aromas and flavours.

This wine is made with the thought of coming home from work, putting your feet up, and relaxing with a refreshing glass in hand. It's 100% chardonnay and is fruit-forward, clean, and has benefitted from barrel ageing which helped to round the wine and add just a touch of richness. A burst of apple, lemon curd and classic Californian vanilla oak flavours is a just reward for a hard day's work.

I am so excited about Californian wine production - it’s always a thrill to see these wines on our shores. This is pinot with power - smokey and meaty at the fore, which gives way to a dried cherry and pink flower potpourri and sweet baking spice. On the palate it’s silky smooth and delightfully shapely with some punchy acidity give the wine real get-up-and-go. This isn’t so much lithe and supple as it is round in the mouth; almost (but not quite) enough to be stepping outside the bounds of varietal typicity. Structured and bold but ethereal none the less.

The original name, La Crema Vinera, means “best of the vine,” setting the standard for this winery does since 1979. Over 30 years of experience working with chardonnay and pinot noir have established La Crema as a winery of consistent quality. La Crema produces wines from top cool-climate appellations to include; Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Monterey and most recently Willamette. The unifying factors of all these sites are their cool, windy climates and marine-based soils. Outstanding vineyard sources, limited yields and artisanal wine making produce wines that receive high acclaim. The Monterey Appellation consists of a long valley stretching from the uniquely cold Monterey Bay to the far Southeast reaches of the Salinas Valley. An ever-present breeze and maritime influence rise from the ocean cooling wide expanses of rolling vineyards. The fruit for this wine is sourced from multiple vineyards across the Monterey AVA including our Gravelstone and Clark estate vineyards. Vineyards located in North Monterey bring juicy fruit notes while the vineyards in the South bring riper fruit flavours. La Crema Monterey Bay Chardonnay has aromas of grilled pineapple, nashi pear, tangerine, and papaya are followed by flavours of white peach, Anjou pear, Key lime and honeydew melon which are complemented by a touch of barrel spice and river stone minerality. Balanced acidity lingers on a long finish.
