Named after the patriarch of the Tate family, the Alexanders Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from the heart of Margaret River and was chosen due to Chardonnay's love and suitability to the region. The first release of a Wilyabrup Chardonnay under the Cornerstone Label and what a thrilling wine. Margaret River fruit power underpinned by energy and drive.Mid lemon with a green hue. Clean and complex stonefruit, melon, almond kernel and quality oak. Clean and focussed mango and fig with very good line and length, tight acidity and silken texture. Pure, pristine and refined in a distinctive regional style.

The citrus rind and grapefuit lead the palate to an overall fine yet textural journey. Cape Mentelle Chardonnay had this distinctive minerally line too, apparent with focussed refreshing acidity. Faint nuancesof soft nougat and cashews also add to what is a harmonious balance and an elegant and length finish.

Ripe stone fruit, melon and pear with intense shortbread, brioche and toasted bread notes from time spent maturing on yeast lees. Rich, full and seamless. Creamy, ripe stone fruits fill the mouth on entry, with lovely shortbread and brioche flavours adding richness and complexity. This full flavoured wine is a classic style that rewards with long flavours and length but remaining in complete balance from the first sip to the last drop.

Fermented 80% in stainless steel tanks and the rest in French oak barriques, Vinaceous Shakre Chardonnay has been designed to display the strengths of modern Margaret River Chardonnay. This wine of merit features a pale lemon colour and opens with bright and clean fruit aromas accompanied by subtle oak nuances. Juicy and structured on the palate, the wine offers a crisp and clean finish that lingers on. It's a casual, uncomplicated accompaniment to a variety of meals, especially mushrooms.

It has a lovely bouquet of white peach and pear with hints of honey and nougat. This chardonnay is 100% wild fermented and matured in French oak for nine months. The palate is soft with fresh tropical fruit flavours, finishing with citrus and chalky minerality. All three parcels were hand-picked on the same day and chilled overnight. The following day the grapes were tipped as whole bunches directly into our press and gently pressed off into a tank. Natural settling occurred overnight and the cloudy juice was then sent to French oak barrels twenty-four hours later. Wild fermentation was completed in a barrel and allowed to mature on its own lees for nine months, with minimal stirring during this time, to maintain freshness and natural acidity. Metricup Road has been its home since 1974 for Evans & Tate. This Chardonnay showcases the unique regional character of Margaret River, with premium parcels of fruit showing layers of aromatic white peach, toasted cashews and a crisp finish.

With not only Robert 'Bob' Oatley's signature on the label, the wine itself has the signature of winemaker Larry Cherubino all over it. Supple and elegant along power and poise are all trademarks of the award winning WA winemaker; all of which are on display here with the Signature Series Chardonnay from Margaret River. Stone fruit notes greet the nose which are then reflected onto the palate that has a length of flavour befitting of a premium Chardonnay.

The Lenton Brae Southside Chardonnay plays off the already established Wilyabrup Chardonnay with a fresh, vibrant feel to the wine. A cleansing line of acid is evident throughout the palate as is the textured mouthfeel courtesy of 'wild' primary fermentation and the addition of quality oak to the process. Designed to be enjoyed in its youth, this classic Margaret River Chardonnay will also enjoy some short to medium-term cellaring to coax out its true essence.
