By 1850, Krondorf village comprised 121 Settlers and their families. These 121 souls formed the beginning of a new community that shaped the future of the Barossa Valley. Their spirit is remembered through the rare, meticulously selected old vines, with the 2021 vintage hand crafted from a single vineyard in the Southern Barossa with an average vine age of 60 years. With a minimalist approach to winemaking, gentle pigeage is used to extract tannins then it’s matured in premium French oak barrels for a period of 18 months. This richly textured Shiraz gives lifted and concentrated aromatics of dark plum and blackberry fruit, with complex spicy oak notes from new and seasoned French oak hogsheads. The palate shows incredible depth and intensity, the oak giving balance to the strong core of dark fruit. Graphite, aniseed and chocolate round out the palate. Approachable in the short to mid-term, but also a strong candidate for long-term cellaring.

Deep garnet with purple hues, showing a dense, inviting core. The nose offers rich dark berries, black plum, peppery spice, and subtle cedar and earth notes. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with ripe fruit, integrated oak, firm tannins, and a long, lingering finish.

Serious, dark and gestural, this shiraz sourced from a single vineyard in the northwest corner of the Barossa Valley is not for the timid. The Vantablack of the shiraz world. Dark and dense. Ink even, until the calligraphy begins gesturing across the canvas of the mouth. Fabal’s red soil aerates brushstrokes. Minerality gives structure. The paint dries slowly and lingers in the air.

Aroma Dark berries, liquorice, mocha and spice with background notes of dark chocolate and smoky oak. Palate Intense and mouth filling, the palate shows blackberry, cocoa and coffee characters with long, balanced tannins tying the structure together, this is a rich and complex wine that will cellar for years to come. Deep red in colour, The Brunette opens up with aromas of aniseed and spicy oak. Expect a palate full of red berries backed up by aniseed and liquorice. 'From a single vineyard in the Moppa district, a striking shiraz with deep, bright purple-red colour and youthful, undeveloped cherry aromas. Teusner Albert Shiraz is made from old vines in the northern Barossa; rich black fruits and tarry cassis with smoky undertones, the finish is long and luscious. Could easily be cellared for the medium term.

As the custodian of some of the world's oldest Grenache vines, Marco Cirillo has been called the guru of Grenache! The 1850s Grenache, as the name suggests, has fruit that comes from vines that date back over 160 years. Truly remarkable flavours of red fruit, earth and leather notes. An old world feel comes from a glass of this new world Grenache.

The Penfolds Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz is a relatively new addition to the Penfolds stable, sourced from the Barossan sub-district, Marananga. Simply a revelation, this wine is an inky, black beast in the glass with lashings of dark chocolate and coffee accented fruit, yet this years offering shows a lingering, soft structured finish that will see the wine cellar very nicely.

Originally an Apricot Orchard and re planted with Shiraz vines in 1974. Hence the name Apricot Block. Totally opaque black crimson colour. Superb pronounced nose , with flavours of plum., spice and black pepper. The palate is mouth filling flavours of plum, blackberry. pepper and dark chocolate. Fine grained tannins perfectly balanced. Very long aftertaste. of black pepper , plum and blackberry.
