The Naked Grouse enriches the flavours of Scotlands favourite whisky by maturing in sun dried sherry oak casks. In southeast Spain, where the finest Murcian lemons, mandarins and sweet Navel oranges grow, Bombay Sapphire works closely with local suppliers and farmers to sustainably source the most exquisite citrus. During the late season’s annual harvest, using techniques passed down through generations, dedicated suppliers and farmers handpick and hand-peel each fruit at its most ripe and allow them to dry naturally under the Mediterranean sun, capturing only the brightest, most aromatic citrus oils that harvest has to offer. In each small batch, the master distiller selects the precise cut of the distillation to ensure each-and-every bottle is a fitting tribute to the region, the suppliers and farmers’ craftsmanship, and the supreme quality of that harvest ensuring the same outstanding liquid is produced each year. This infusion is then married with our Vapour Infused gin perfectly balancing the taste of freshly squeezed lemons, whilst enriching the juniper notes of the gin. Gin was first made by Bordiga in 1889, and this gin is still made from the original recipe. In addition to orange and lemon peel, only four main botanicals are used, juniper, angelica, cardamom, and a secret ingredient the distillery harvests locally from the Occitan Alps. The juniper used grows wild in the Maritime Alps, some of the highest mountains in Europe. This combination of altitude and maritime influence enriches the essential oils of the juniper berries, lending a unique flavour. A classic juniper lift, with a fragrant nose cut with cardamom, distinct orange, and lemon rind notes. At once classic and distinctively individual, with the purity and intensity of the botanicals giving this gin remarkable cut and clarity.
