Shiraz - Deep rich cherry red in colour. A robust aroma with very ripe plum/cherry tones and obvious oak leading to a mouth filling palate with long finish. The palate is soft, well balanced with a lingering fruity finish. The wine is ready to drink now or can be cellared for up to 8-10 years.

Levantine Hill Optume Yarra Valley Shiraz Made from 100% Shiraz from parcels selected by Paul Bridgeman, the wine is entirely matured in French oak (29% of which is new). The wine lands at 13.5% abv and has some weight to it but the vintage shows in the finesse of the wine as does Bridgemans finesse. The 2017 vintage provided an exceptionally ideal cool and elongated growing season akin to winding the clock back to the classic Yarra Valley conditions of yore. Conditions were perfect for sourcing grapes with the intention of creating a classic style of cool-climate Shiraz reminiscent of the pioneering wines that forged the Yarra Valleys enviable reputation. Showing volume and weight with finesse and restraint, this perfumed, brooding and enticingly refined medium-bodied Shiraz is the result of an assemblage of three individual vineyard sites, all targeted for their individual defining strengths and characters that would play a role in constructing a complete wine. Fruit was sourced from individually selected sites across the Yarra Valley. Leading with an intensity of white pepper and char, the complex, slowly-evolving nose offers a mélange of mulberry, dried figs, cloves, cardamom and fruit mince pies. The palate delivers a grace and presence with the weight pushing through to a slow-building resonance of flavour and tannin. The density of black fruits is wound tight and integrated so that no one element stands above the others. This wine is suitable for vegans. Decanting is highly recommended.

This cool-climate expression of Shiraz is the beneficiary of the philosophy, methodology and stylistic approach applied to its more senior stablemates. The aim for this blend was to achieve a balance of weight, immediacy, generosity and drinkability with subtle restraint. Enticing aromas of red berries, white pepper, Russian Caravan tea, porcini mushroom broth, musk stick, nutmeg, fennel, peat & herbal mutterings of stalks. The juicy palate evokes a red dark fruit balance redolent of red cherry & mulberry with a spice influence of sumac & tamarind paste. Dark chocolate and smoked paprika flavours combine to elongate the detailed palate. A fine acidity draws the palate long with talc-like tannins inlaid, building fruit weight to a resonant finish. For the Old Vine Reserve by Seville Estate, the Pinot Noir is purely sourced from the original 1972 plantings. The block is one acre and produces low yields (1-2 tonnes/acre) of small berries and bunches. The colour is deep especially for Seville pinot with a slight hazy pale purple hue. The wine is beautifully perfumed and bright with strawberry red fruits, spice, slightly gamy with earthy tones. Darker fruits on the palate with multi layered characters of red fruits, savoury whole bunch, nutmeg spice and smoky bacon. The wine has great length and natural fruit tannin that is nicely balanced with the acidity and oak.

Oakridge Over the Shoulder Cabernet Merlot is bold fruit driven and mouth filling, this wine combines old world style with contemporary wine making techniques.

An excellent new discovery from the home of Pinot the Yarra Valley. In the glass: Medium garnet. On the nose: Blood plum, red cherry and clove with tilled earth and tea leaf notes. On the palate: Medium weight and savoury with a fine tannin backbone underpinning the refined core of red and black fruit. Finishes with earthy spice adding complexity to the persistent finish. An elegant wine that really unfolds in the glass.
