This is our second release of Nebbiolo from TarraWarra. It is ideally suited to the Yarra Valley and is thriving in its location, yielding a wine that has classic Nebbiolo perfume and structure. The wine has a bright garnet colour, aromas of roses, smoked meats and spice, while the palate has bright fruit driven home by characteristic Nebbiolo tannins. It will reward years of cellaring.

An extremely pleasing and drinkable wine, and although it has a high alcohol grade this never overpowers its fruity character. Its red colour has Bordeaux reflections and the slow trickle from the edge of the glass confirms its optimal concentration and good body. The palate is caressed by a smooth tannin content typical of the Nebbiolo grape and by a warm and enveloping flavour.

This is the debut release of Circle of Fifths Pinot Noir, a wine that brings together the highlights of Giant Steps’ single vineyards into one smooth and easy-going tune. Like a jazz band having a jam session, Circle of Fifths is all about finding harmony in diversity, creating something complete and balanced that captures the whole Yarra Valley vibe. This 2024 release, crafted by Mel Chester and her crew, who know how to let each vineyard hit its note just right, is a great first album. Fruit from Tarraford, Sexton, Primavera, Applejack, and Bastard Hill vineyards comes together here, each adding a little something to the blend’s overall rhythm. The 42% whole bunch fermentation gives a nice bounce to the red fruit and spice notes, while a touch of oak rounds things out like a steady bassline. It was a classic Yarra season, fresh and bright, with just enough warmth for a juicy finish. Hand-picked, gently handled, and blended with a light touch, this is a Pinot that’s easy to love now but has plenty to say down the line too. The vineyard series range of wines by David Bicknell at Oakridge matches particular varieties of wines with specific sites, showcasing outstanding examples of single vineyard wines. This wine was sourced from the north-facing Hyde Park vineyard sited in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream. Vintage 2021 was a long, cool growing season with average cropping levels and ample rainfall has resulted in wines with outstanding varietal definition and purity. A vintage defined by cool, wet conditions, low crops and harvesting late into autumn. The resulting wines have great depth of flavour and vibrant, balanced acidities. A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine - whole berry bunch fermentation in open vessels for two weeks followed by a 10 month maturation in French oak.

Bannockburn Shiraz is a multi-layered wine showing blackberry, black cherry and spice on the nose which follow through to the palate. Soft tannins and medium length.

Purple colour, fresh and delicate aromatics of cherry, blueberry, spices and flowers. The structure has a lightness and brightness in it. Well defined by good tannins and harmonious acidity this wine has a pleasant freshness and intriguing character. Paolo Scavino owns 29 hectares entirely in the Barolo area and works on 20 Barolo historical crus located in Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, La Morra, Novello, Serralunga d'Alba, Verduno and Roddi. The Scavino family distinguishes itself from the beginning by their scrupulous care of the vineyards and passion for terroir. Their core beliefs is the supremacy of the viticulture above the oenology therefore the focus is the care of the vines in order to grow ripe and healthy grapes. In winemaking minimal and equal intervention are sought, to preserve natural diversities, terroir.

This is a vibrant, top-class Pinot with layers of spice and earth and a full, silky palate balanced by chalky tannin and a snappy, mineral-flecked finish. Don’t be afraid to decant and serve this in a big Burgundy glass—it’s an impressive wine that will evolve with air and time.
