Sourced from a number of old vineyards in the Riverland and McLaren Vale, some of which are dry grown bush vines. Aromatic and lifted on the nose with a beautifully layered, textural palate with wild strawberry and spice. Vinified in small batches, separately. Wild ferments, whole bunch inclusion, larger oak and no filtration or fining define the natural character of the wine.

It’s 100% grown in South Australia, but as winemaker Steve Grimley says, this lavish wine is Italy meets Portugal Down Under. It blends Italy’s famous Nero d’Avola (40%) and Sangiovese (10%), with Portugal’s Touriga (20%), adding in luscious Durif (20%) and inky Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). (Yes, Durif and Cabernet were originally French, but they’ve been here long enough to be considered true blue Aussies, so we’re not going to quibble.) “No fewer than 4 varieties join forces in this tiny-batch red. Where to start?” says Steve. “The approach I came up with was to focus on what it is like, not what goes into it.” Let’s just say that if you like you reds inkily rich and decadent, you will LOVE Nero! Brokenwood Shiraz is a ripe and generous Shiraz with lifted cherry and mint aromas nicely balanced with sweet chocolate notes on the nose and a soft rich palate with savoury cedary flavours and fine grained tannins on the finish.

Seppelt Chalambar is sourced from fruit from a number of premier Victorian wine regions allowing the expert winemaking team to source the very best fruit year in, year out. In recent years the Chalambar has achieved wide acclaim for not only its approachability upon release, but its inherent ability to age superbly for such an affordable wine. Notes of black fruits, pepper and a delicate angle of spice that grows even more complexity through the length of flavour. With a tannin structure and oak regime that can only be described as exemplary, Chalambar deserves to be in your cellar and on your table.
