Voted 2020 Winemaker of the Year by the famous “Guide Hachette” in France, Arnaud Aucoeur epitomizes the Beaujolais Gamay revival in the world of wine. From pure Gamay, these wines have freshness with a hint of minerality, ruby-red colour and red berry scents on the nose. The style is bright, packed with berry flavours, with hints of black pepper over a base of ripe tannins. Domaine Dubost is a fourth generation estate and has been managed by the hands of Jean-Paul Dubost since he took over from his father in 1993. They farm approximately 19 hectares, nine of which are from the village appellation. The rest of the land is split between Brouilly, Moulin à Vent, Morgon, and a little in Regnié. He has been transitioning to biodynamics since 2005 and ferments all of the wines with natural yeasts. The crus are made without sulphur or other additions. Jean-Paul Dubost Beaujolais-Lantignié Récolte is a red natural wine made from 100% Gamay grapes from the Beaujolais Village appellation called Beaujolais-Lantignié. Juliénas is among the 10 best Crus of the Beaujolais région, offering velvety textures, peppered red fruit aromas and a soft tannin structure. Our vineyards (2.85 Ha.) are situated on the eastern side of the village of Juliénas, on the mid-slope, enjoying a southern exposure. The soils are deep, well drained and composed of granite rock sediments and slate. These optimal conditions allow the exclusive gamay varietal to express lots of finesse, good texture and concentration. The grapes are picked by hand and transported direcly into our cellars in Fuissé (15 min.). The key elements for our wine-making is the health of the grapes and their phenolic maturity as we priviledge whole cluster fermentation and partial barrel/tank maturing. We focus on the terroir expression allowing our wines to affine and develop in the bottle.
