Each vintage Wynns select a premium parcel from a single vineyard to bottle separately. This year the selection is from the Glengyle vineyard, creating a true wine of stature.

95 Block Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby red in colours and very perfumed. Ripe Cabernet fruitalongside smooth cedar Bright and fruit driven, the addition of Petit Verdot brings a slightly floral nature. Ample tannins. Smooth finish.

From only the best vintages, certain parcels of fruit with exceptional character are released separately under this label. Fruit for this wine comes entirely from our ‘Abbey’ estate vineyard at the Parker Cellar Door, specifically the ‘95 Block’. The 95 Block sub-section of our vineyard is located west of the cellars and is planted with Reynell selection Cabernet Sauvignon. The Author pays homage to pioneering vigneron John Riddoch (1827-1901). A true visionary, Riddoch is regarded as one of the founding fathers of Australian wine. The Author represents the finest expression of the vintage. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is classic Coonawarra, with lush red berry fruit, with hints of plum, bramble and mint. Aged in a combination of new and old French Oak, seamlessly integrated with the fruit. Refined and silky tannins lead to a long and persistent length of flavour. This has all the hallmarks of a classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and will drink well now but will reward cellaring for 10-15 years.

This Cabernet Merlot is a dark purple with red and dark berries on the nose along with the famous Coonawarra mint. The palate shows complex dark berries with dark chocolate and cedar. the wine has a long finish with sea spray notes which compliment the fine grained tannins and persistent fruit.

Margarey Lane produces a limited selection of premium wines from Limestone Coast vineyards, including the heart of Coonawarra itself, from the renowned Reschke vineyard.Deep, dark red. Plum, mulberry, currant and toasty oak. Rich dark berry and sweet oak entry, in a fleshy and very flavoursome style, yet remains quite elegant, with attractive savoury complexity, and a concentrated, flavoursome finish.

Wynns is privileged to have some of Coonawarra’s best quality and oldest vineyards. Each year, the Winemakers select just one parcel of wine to bottle separately. In 2021, the Messenger vineyard, in the southern section of the terra rossa strip, showed to distinction. Planted in 1975, Messenger Cabernet is a dry grown vineyard on deeper soils.

Yalumba continue to produce amazing quality, premium wines for a fraction of the price they could demand. The Menzies is prime example with rich, blackcurrant and cassis fruit with integrated oak that fills the mouth.

Katnook Prodigy Shiraz is a wonderful example of great Coonawarra Shiraz. Savoury spice and dark berry fruits with a hint of white pepper. An elegant wine with medium intensity and great length. Amazingly concentrated for current drinking, the Prodigy will benefit for over decade in the cellar.
